[There's a couple minutes of not-quite silence as the entry opens, almost like it was turned on by accident. There's muffled voices that sound like they're in a room next to the journal--one of them might be risingwinds's, but it's difficult to hear ( Read more... )

Reading. Chess. Housecleaning. Perhaps cooking; do you have any cook books to try new recipes from? It's a good opportunity to try a new hobby.

...

[Is this girl for real.]

You could use some work on your listening skills.

[Oh, she has good listening skills. She finishes up, and hopefully keeps the amusement from her voice.]

Those are all still possible. There are braille books here; learning it would be a good mental exercise as well. You could also have someone read to you. Chess pieces are distinguishable by touch as well. And someone could guide you with the cooking.

[In short? 'Use this time to learn to cooperate with those around you'.]

[None of those are particularly appealing to him, still. Though he guesses he could make someone read to him.]

Hnh. Any suggestions that're more... independant?

Why don't you just sleep? [ Hey he did it just fine for an entire century. ]

Tried that. It's gotten old.

Maybe your dreams are just really boring. Try eating spicy foods before sleeping. Hear it does wonders.

That's still not the issue. Got any other suggestions besides that?

You could learn to be more humble and perhaps reflect on what you've done.

[Hah. He was waiting for a response like this.]

I've been reflecting on it, every day. But you can only replay the 'good old days' so many times before that gets stale, too.

The good old days, hmm? What you consider the good old days were not to the others you harmed.

Like I care. That's the way the world works, isn't it? The good always being trampled down by the bad.

I still think music would help. It's fun to listen to, and you can play it in the background while you do other things.

[Considering the only songs avilable in their world are Disney...]

Still not interested.

You really think I enjoy the songs you whistle all the time, anyway?

I find listening to music helps a lot when I'm bored.

[There's a slight hum on her end, as she tries to think of more ideas on the top of her head.]

... That's all that I can think of at this moment, but... [another pause.] If you'd like me to recommend some tracks, I wouldn't mind doing so.

[Minako's answer sounds rather idle. It's clear she didn't think twice to check who she was talking to.]

[And luckily for her, Vanitas can't identify her by her voice. But his answer's still short.]

Tracks?

When you have a CD, a single song or piece of music from it is called a track. Since Luceti doesn't have internet or anything, you kind of have to make do with those.

[a pause, as there's sounds of movement on her end. In less than a minute, Vanitas should start to hear music playing in her background.]

I mostly listen to pop, but I have a couple other genres if you'd like to listen to them too. [she adds thoughtfully, as she shuffles around for other CDs lying about her room.]

[There's a lot of words in there he doesn't quite understand, but when the music comes over the journal he's a little surprised. It's... different, at least.]

CDs, huh. How do you use them?
