Winter vacation: Kumamoto

Jan 16, 2010 19:36

After a three hour video call with the family back home Christmas morning, I jumped on a train to the airport and caught a flight to Fukuoka with my friend and fellow ALT, Danielle. Kumamoto castle is nice, but as for black castles I like Okayama castle better (*_*) <~ castle fan
There are still so many castles I have to see.
I hope you enjoyed your trip to Kyushu. I love Kyushu. Luckily it's so close from here.
How were you able to take the photos inside the castle? Maybe I'm confusing it right now with one of the other 2342424 castles I've visited lately, but I'm pretty sure that photos weren't allowed?! (*__*)
Ah, nevermind, just checked my Kumamoto entry again (was summer 2008, so I forogt XD): http://chochajin.livejournal.com/140659.html
Photos were allowed, but I wonder why I don't have photos of those awesome wallscroll thingies ;o; *headdesk*

Aso-san was awesome as well. Hope you'll post some photos soon ^-^

I'm not really a castle fan but I did enjoy the palace portion. I think it is newly renovated so it's possible that it wasn't open when you were there. If you ever go back I would say it's worth another visit because it was easily my favorite part of Kumamoto.

They are replicas and not originals but they're too shiny to really care. I posted a few more pictures if you're interested.

It was yummy especially with a beer to wash it down. We had our little party in the train station waiting room! :-)

You should have posted this on a entry where I'm moaning about being homesick and not one with gorgeous pics of Japan. *shakes finger* Heehee, just kidding. I haven't decided. I would love to I'm just not sure I have the motivation to write. It's been like pulling teeth just to blog and I haven't updated or posted anything new in over a year. *wibbles*

Yeah I debated about nudging you. I think you may have enough going on. Then again you are one of my favorite authors and I could not help myself!

Actually I have more time than ever before to write since I can sit at my desk and read novels at work, but it's been like pulling teeth to get anything out of me in the last year or so. Maybe a prompt would inspire me or maybe it would be more torture. Hard to tell...
