A hand fell on top of the backrest of her chair, unobtrusively.

"Excuse me."

Kate... didn't quite jump. Or she'd say she hadn't. She'd say it was a minor twitch, if anything. And that she was allowed, after last night's vampire incident and everything.

She turned to look at who'd caused that. "I'm... sorry?" Not at her sharpest, poor girl.

"You're here for Mitchell," the middle-aged woman greeting her surmised. "Hi. I'm sorry--" She offered the girl a hand. "I'm Josie."

Kate blinked at her. "Kate," she said, slowly, taking the woman's hand, though looking a little dubious. She couldn't help it.
