The wolf is at the door

I know I haven't been around much lately. That's largely because I've been trying to contain my freaking out and that's not working anymore.

Basically, I have no money. Or, if you want to get technical, I've got maybe $10 in loose change, which isn't going to fill my gas tank, much less pay my bills. Even if I somehow magically got a job tomorrow ( Read more... )

oh shit

It's a tough time of year for most people. At least we don't live up North and have giant heating bills. I've been so thankful for the cooler weather of late.
I hope you find a solution~

Ok...I've been thinking about this most of last night and today, wondering how I can help you with this whole deal. Money? Well, I wish to hell I could offer you some, but we are in almost as precarious a situation as you are. :( BUT, as I was in the shower, it (I hope!!) came to me. Now, 'ang on yer drawers, as we say around here, because I'm not thinking outside the box.... I'm outside the whole damn warehouse! So. Herm HERM, here it goes... can you take in a tennant?

I think I remember that your house has only one bedroom, but could you turn the dining room or some other room into a "bedroom" for you and rent out the real bedroom? Get maybe $400/$450 a month? Enought to pay the necessary bills until SOMEthing breaks for you.

Yes? No?

I'd consider it, since there's not much left worth stealing and if he/she was a serial killer, my problems would be over, but it's back to the whole "my house is a pit of squalor" thing. I can't imagine single-handedly making room for another person. As a goal,, though, it's worth thinking about, and thanks for awakening me to an option I hadn't considered.

Have a "clean to rent" party? Get three or four friends over, have chips/pizza/pop. Beg, borrow or steal $50 bucks, and get some el cheapo paint and curtains (or sew the curtains, if you have that skill). As an alternate to losing everything, it's better than a poke in the eye from a rubber duck!

What about selling some of the Fiesta Ware and the like? I am sure you could get some decent $ for it~ Craigslist is free to list~ you have a digital camera so it would be easy.
Put clothes, whatever will bring a buck on there. They only reply via email so no worries about weirdos. With the holiday season approaching, folks are looking for gifts like that.

That's a possibility. It's pretty, but it's not like I use it every day.

Sentiment out the door~ along with whatever you can make a buck off of.
I sold tons of stuff in the last couple of years to keep things afloat~ haven't missed any of it.
