Lots of exciting news

First of all, the UU picnic went well. I almost weaseled out because the weather looked like crap, but it cleared up. The park it was held at is lovely; the pavillion where the event was held was situated so that all the views were good---whether of the river, the woods or the coast. I may not have met Mr Right, but I'd happily hold the wedding ( Read more... )

Oh, wow, that sounds like tons of fun! Lucky you!

- Sunscreen in your pocket/purse is a must.
- Take a loose, light-weight, long-sleeved, button-down shirt or hoodie as a wrap. Something I can stuff in the bottom of my purse/tote. Some of the indoor exhibits/rides can be chilly.
- If you're prone to blisters, put a bandaid around your heel/toe/bunion when you get dressed in the morning. It'll prevent your shoes from rubbing the skin. Stash some spares in your pocket.

Re cameras:
You might want to take disposable camera along in case yours dies. They're digital, of course, but you can order a CD for uploading. Oh, and they'll be much cheaper if you buy them anywhere other than the parks!

All good suggestions, thanks. My issue with dispo cameras is, paying for developing. You're right about the in-park price---I did that at Sea World about v10 years ago, and it was ridiculous.

I hear ya on the cost, and don't usually use them. For special occasions, though, I consider them insurance.

I've been thinking of you and taking notes. For one thing, Mb has found rooms at the HoJo (less than 5 miles away and there's a shuttle-bus) for under $35 per night for two beds. Instead of getting day-passes, we've going with weekday annual passes, which as the name suggests, are good on weekdays for a year. (Some black-out dates may apply.)

That's brilliant! I'm so pleased for you - you've been very patient through all the crap that's been thrown at you so at least now you're seeing some progress and some reward. Have a great time!

As for the camera, I bet it is just the batteries.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed about the batteries. Regardless, I'm determined to have a great time. I deserve it!

Since I'll have a weekday annual pass (subject tosome black-out dates), we'll have to find a mutually compatible day some weekday and go. Presuming, of course, that your work lets you take personal days.

Until the price of gas decreases a great deal, I won't be making any journeys to Orlando!

Jazz is a very thoughtful dog -- what a wonderful gift! And that's great news about the dog training business. I'll keep fingers crossed for you and J. *hugshugshugs*

I'm really pleased for the business. Now if we can just get enough business for me to draw a salary....
