The C's live on a canal, and there are ducks living in their backyard. (There's a bin of cracked corn out in the garage. These are well-fed, happy ducks.) Hey, at least you've got a painted porch to show for your day. I've got heartburn and some doodles. (Doodling because this place is like being in a craft store, and I can't play with any of it, except the pens and pencils.)

It's one big-ass porch, so we have half a porch painted and will finish it tomorrow. On Monday I'll paint the floor of it with deck stain, and then we'll be done with that chore. We've been putting it off for 11 years because we knew how unpleasant it was going to be. :D

The road between the house I grew up in and the local school went between two lakes, and we used to have to stop in the road for the mama ducks to take their babies across. The ducks were Moscovys, and they were so brightly colored.

*duck envy* If your "mallard" types are small, they're probably mallards. If they're larger, they're probably rouens, the domestic version.

They're about half the size of the Muscovys, so yeagh, they're probably Mallards.
