Got back from Steak'n'Shake just after 1...a nice feast of carbs, so I was able to crawl back into bed and slept til 6. Woke from a dreadful dream wherein I was visiting Peter in NY and had my ID stolen from my wallet. I'd been in a store looking at some exotic spices that were marked down...turned my back for just a minute and my wristlet was gone ( Read more... )

*hugs* Anxiety dreams are definitely the product of real-life stress. When I was pregnant and not making much money while working for a real bastard, I had awful dreams that someone broke into our house and stole all the baby's things -- clothes, crib, car seat -- and once I woke up crying because there was no way we could afford to replace it all.

I'm sitting here making out a four-part grocery list, based on what's on best price at the stores and what we need but can live without a little while longer. Both the dogs have been sick -- Rocket spent part of the weekend at the ER vet hospital, which is hideously expensive but he was so ill we were afraid he was dying -- and our cash is scraping the bottom of the barrel this week.

I suspect the anger is an amplification of the fear I'm living with, in regards to my job/financial situation. I also have dreams about finding money, and I'm so relieved and happy---until I wake up.

Poor Rocket! I hope he and Rosie are both doing well now? I'll have to try to get a pic of the Rosie I'm sharing digs with!

Rocket's had one infection after another since catching coccidia from Rosie. He's feeling better today, thank goodness. Rosie is growing like a weed, and we hope to get her spayed in a couple of weeks. The infection she had made her platelet count go too low for it to be safe to do surgery on her, so she's been on a course of steroids to fix that.

Think about a mini-dachshund on steroids. It's been like living with a pint-sized Terminator! :D

Must be a full moon or something- we are throwing a bridal shower IRL this Sunday for future daughter-in-law. Last night, I had a dream that the ENTIRE family showed up while we were trying to get the shower set up and demanded to be fed dinner. Sis- in- law and I proceeded to feed them all the while knowing we had a deadline to meet. In same dream, brother- in- law, who is a clean freak, was serving people cake with his bare hands. Final was that my other sis-in-law and deceased mother-in-law drove up in my old yellow Cadillac...how bizarre is that????
Hope the actual day of the shower goes somewhat smoother than that! ha ha

Last night WAS a full moon, so a certain amount of lunacy is to be expected. Good luck with the shower, here's hoping it all goes peacefully!

I love S'n'S! Except that ours is right across from the Mall, and tends to attract a lot of rowdy youngsters after the late movies let out. We've been known to decamp to Denny's, which tends to be quieter, albeit pricier.

I tried the Key Lime shake they've had for the summer and was massively underwhelmed. Next time, I'm sticking to butter pecan, which has never let me down.
