It was cold last night. I didn't turn on the space heater, although I woke shivering before dawn and wished I had---but was too cold to get out from under the covers to do it. Japan freaked me out, too, although if something like that was going to happen anywhere, Japan WAS the best place as they have really trained themselves from the days the small kids can walk.
That being said... Noone needs a disaster like that. The deathtoll has been upped to 10.000 now, I think. Plus the simmering nuclear plants... It is horrific.
Your mother's saying is a good one but to reach that stage takes time. Just keep chipping off the bits from the piles and you will have that. *hugs*

The last I heard, someone said it would be miraculous if it was LESS than 10,000. Beaches were strewn with bodies, and many were feared swept out to sea. One article said they were running out of body bags, the local crematorium could only handle 18 bodies a day and were completely overwhelmed. No word of how they were trying to identify the bodies. And the nuclear plants---! It's all horrifying and depressing and it doesn't help that I'm of a morbid disposition anyway.

And as far as I have watched Jap-anime it revels in that kind of thing... Makes me wonder of the power of suggestion here.
