Oh, I'm so sorry. I know things had been difficult in recent years as her physical and mental heath deteriorated, but it was always obvious that she was a beloved friend.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Though you've spoken about the challenges of the last few years it's always been obvious S was a very close friend.
