There's a phenomenon that's happened to me twice in the last week. The other day, as I was pulling into WalMart, I had my CD player on, and the song playing as I parked was Molly Hatchet: Flirtin' With Disaster. As I got out of the car, the gal who was loading up her vehicle in the ajoining parking space had starting singing along and gave me a big ( Read more... )

We were just discussing concerts of the past with our grown sons on Saturday. John is about to leave for Rothbury Music Fest in Michigan. He has scrimped and saved and sold things he loved to scrape up the funds- he and 3 of his buddies are leaving this morning. Part of the line up is Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson. He is volunteering for work detail so his entry ticket is free (otherwise cost $250) These kids are pretty inventive when they want to do something. They all pitched in and "rented" my other son's car as it's better on gas and newer.
Hubby was at Woodstock although never actually got IN to the concert- they all went in a U-Haul and camped around the festival.
I told the boys that I've seen many artists but also have a hard time remembering who! Main one was Rolling Stones in 1978 in New Orleans- summer after high school graduation. THAT was a fun show!
I envy them as I'd LOVE to do stuff like that and have no responsibilities !!!!

The last concert I went to was in December of '08: missybrat, her ex and I went to Depeche Mode in Orlando. I keep wanting to go to the House of Blues to see Flogging Molly, but the money and the milage have so far ruled it out. And if I ever REALLY have money, I think the Burning Man Festival would be cool.
