And while I'm thinking of it....

There's a phenomenon that's happened to me twice in the last week. The other day, as I was pulling into WalMart, I had my CD player on, and the song playing as I parked was Molly Hatchet: Flirtin' With Disaster. As I got out of the car, the gal who was loading up her vehicle in the ajoining parking space had starting singing along and gave me a big grin. This afternoon, as I was hunting for a parking space at Publix, there was a group of kids (IE, late teens/early 20s---and if that meets the description of anyone on my f'list, well, I'm old enough to be your mama, y'all....) who smiled and waved as I breezed past with FallOut Boy playing It's Not a Scene, It's a Goddamn Arms Race. So...popular music, much? The really twisted thing is, they're both on the same mix tape.

Also---saw an old Kharman Ghia VW in kelly green. GK used to have a red Kharman Ghia convertible---she once drove me to Daytona Beach for a concert in it...she dropped me off and I caught a bus home in the morning. That was at least 20 years ago---now I couldn't tell you who was playing or what was wrong with my car....

music, car du jour, nostalgia
