Totally whackadoo, right? Like I said, I don't think I've EVER been happier to get fired from a job. And that was screwy, too, because Mrs DFB called me up at 9 AM on a Sunday morning to tell me I was fired. What a gal!

Glad you're feeling a bit better.

Dead and Breakfast is....interesting. Not Enough JDM in it for my taste, though.

who the fuck do you think you are, telling me to suck it up? Where do you get off, imposing your judgements on other people's health?

ITA! But as you say, getting fired from that job was likely a blessing...

Well guess what you need to sue. Because if you produce a script for your pain pills they are not to be notified. We just had this at my job. We all were told we have 60 days to clean up. And if they find the listed script drug the person who ran the test call you and ask you to produce the script for your meds. If you do that your employer should not be told. If you can not then they are to be told because you are at that point on illegal drugs because they are not yours. LET'S ALL SCREAM YEAAAA HHIIIPPPAAA.

This happened a couple years before the medical billing job; preHIPPA, I think. I don't remember being asked by the lab if I was taking anything. It was the lab at Wuestoff, so I'm not surprised something went sideways.
