A grand day out

It rained AGAIN: no swimming. However, otherwise it was a pretty good day. GK and I came to an agreement that there are a few things I will have dibs on if/when Kat goes, IE, the fridge. Meanwhile, I have had access to the Grandma Lode of fabric; got a length of lime green stuff that I want to make a simple skirt from---it'll go well with my black ( Read more... )

Yeah, this is really an unholy mess. I've only been with this bank for about a year. My previous bank...I'd JUST gotten my debit card reissued when the bank was sold and they changed all the debit cards again, it was less than three months old. Forget memorizing them! I've got 50,000 other things to keep track of!

Did your card get compromised somehow? The bank I used to work for (until I quit to move to Texas) had an issue where an employee of one of the Visa transaction processing centers stole thousands of card numbers and sold them. They ended up having to cancel about half of the total card accounts the bank had to keep customers' accounts safe.

I would have the bank issue a new card and let you come by to pick it up. That way they know you got it and you know you got it.

The bank claims it doesn't know why it happened, only that the company that produces their cards summarily canceled and reissued a bunch of cards.

I suppose in the long run, it's better than being ripped off, but right now it's just annoying, frustrating and one more complication in my already stressful life.

That's bull. The bank knows, they just don't want to tell you. Card issuers don't just cancel cards and reissue them. It costs too much! That's why lots of banks charge you for replacement cards if yours gets worn out or damaged before the card renews.

I agree, very frustrating and annoying. Who needs the stress?
