Since I was alone in the room, I was quite startled a little while ago when a voice right over my shoulder said, "Knock, knock!"

The window behind me was open, and I hadn't heard the arrival of BC, who decided to bypass the front door and address me directly. (He said he knew where I'd be. He also said I squealed nicely. I WAS startled

I startle easily, so if somebody did that to me, I'd be embedded in the ceiing tiles.

Actually, I was! Thankfully, the curtains are opaque. And as noted, I squealed (light bulbs tremble!).
