I said, "Money burns a hole in my pocket."

My therapist said, "You are being too hard on yourself." I keep painting myself according to an old image of the way I used to be. I am not that same person anymore, she pointed out. Wow, considering my current situation, I needed this to remind me that I need toe exercise discipline and then also not be so hard on myself regarding our financial mess - we got into this together.

you're not spendthrift. you're not going into debt to dump money down a slot machine, buying massive entertainment systems on credit, or robbing your grandma to buy meth. try putting it in that perspective... cause that's what she sees most likely on a daily basis.

I liked T Thorn Coyle's recent blog post about noticing what's working in our lives. She's religious (Pagan) but her examples are often about weight lifting and money.
