Gackt found himself filled with sadness as he heard Hyde's story, it could have so easily been his story as had he himself not once been a struggling musician working for his big break? OK it was host club and he was earning a lot of money but the point was very much the same, he could have ended up in the same state just so easily. So could the majority of people he knew, they were all just lucky.
“I admire you.” Gackt spoke up as Hyde finished. “To be able to stick with a man who betrayed you so badly.”
“How did Tetsu betray me?” Hyde asked.
“He got himself in debt, he should have been the one who pulled himself out of it.” Gackt replied firmly. “You could have just left... you must love him even now.”
“It's just a work relationship now.” Hyde replied easily brushing the matter aside, the first rule of this job was to make your heart seem available but somehow Gackt saw beneath all his shields too the man underneath.
“You love him but you hate him too. You're love is mixed with anger, your affection with the desire to lash out for everything he has done.” Gackt explained. “I suspect your still his lover, that you still sleep with him but it's because you don't know any better. You don't value yourself any more so it doesn't matter who you are with. Am I right?”
“Tonight I'm yours.” Hyde responded bending over Gackt to kiss his neck like he knew the vocalist enjoyed. It was his standard response to get out of answering questions but it had told Gackt everything he needed to know. Hyde was Tetsu's until another man could show how he truly cared and he was determined to be that man.
“Let's go have a bath.” Gackt suggested and Hyde eagerly agreed clearly relieved that he no longer had to answer questions that scratched at his soul and broke the shields he had placed over his heart so long ago.
Hyde was surprised when Gackt started washing him, it was always the other way around but for some reason this vocalist was determined to show him that he mattered, that he was important to him. Had he not said from the start he wanted Hyde to fall in love with him? It was a dream so many had had before that Hyde had laughed at first, in his head off course he'd never mock a client. Still with Gackt, there was something about him that made Hyde wonder if he could actually achieve it. He saw past every barrier he had in place straight to his core and wasn't surprised or scared about what lay there. He understood like they were lost souls. Gackt was obsessing over the man he truly was and he wanted so much to just let go and let someone love him. How could he though, his job required a closed heart and without his job he had nothing.
“I want you to come on tour with me.” Gackt explained as he pulled Hyde into his arms and simply held him. “It starts next month. Don't answer now, I've booked you a few times a week until then so that you can get to know me. Get to trust me.”
“Why would you want me every night?” Hyde asked. “I know you love sex but...”
“I want you to be my tour boyfriend.” Gackt explained. “And all that entails. I'll pay your full rate every night even if all we do is talk, or watch TV or anything. You can stay in my hotel rooms or have your own and all food and drink will be provided for you. While I'm working you can do whatever you like. I'll negotiate the conditions if I must but that's my offer.”
“It's tempting.” Hyde admitted. “but I’d be alone and I barely know you. How can I make this decision now?”
“Oh yes, I'm going to lock you up in the tour bus and make you be an outlet for the whole band.” Gackt teased.
“Hey, if I'm getting paid...” Hyde began before going quiet. He'd forgotten himself and had to remember Gackt was a client, he shouldn't talk like this but Gackt only laughed.
“I know exactly what you are, no need to pretend with me. Show me who you are, treat me as a friend not a client.” Gackt ordered. “and like I said, you don't have to answer right away.”
“I'll give you my answer next time I see you.” Hyde promised.
“Whenever you're ready to say yes.” Gackt replied with a smile.
Later, having enjoyed a long relaxing bath Hyde found himself lying on silk sheets as Gackt worshipped his body with thousands of kisses. He had never felt so special and he knew his answer would be yes, the only question was when he could trust Gackt enough to agree to leave the relative safety of the city he had grown up in. Here he always knew where he was and Tetsu was only a phone call away should he need help, elsewhere he could be hundreds of miles out of his safety zone and still be in Japan. At least Hyde already knew it was a national tour and not abroad like some of the concerts in the past. Perhaps he should just risk it and say yes now? No! Sex was hardly the best time to make important decisions.

“Yeah I know, I already told him no.” Tetsu replied able to turn his jealousy into anger. “He never gives up.”
“I want to go.” Hyde informed Tetsu. “I'm sure I’ll be fine.”
“Don't be stupid, have you been drinking?” Tetsu demanded alarmed by Hyde's guilty silence. “How much?”
“One glass, I'm not drunk.” Hyde replied. “I trust him and it'll be easy work for a few months, you wouldn't have to worry about me.”
“You're not going.” Tetsu informed him. “What about your other clients?”
“Who cares? At the end of the day they just want a easy fuck.” Hyde replied his good mood already shattered. “Doesn't matter who's hole there pushing into, it's all the same.”
“You're not going.” Tetsu informed Hyde who shook his head in disbelief.
“I am going, you don't own me.” Hyde informed him. “Either you arrange this as my pimp and get your cut or I’ll arrange it myself and you'll get nothing.” Now that had got him, he'd never once suspected that Hyde would away from him like this and there was no way he could afford to loose Hyde's takings. He was trapped and they both knew it.
“Fuck you Hyde.” Tetsu snarled as he turned to face the other man.
“Oh so many have.” Hyde replied with a smirk. “So many in fact that I don't think you can really lay a claim on me any more.”
“Whore.” Tetsu muttered, his insult rather meaningless given the circumstances.
“I'm breaking up with you.” Hyde informed Tetsu. “From now on you want my ass you can pay for it like everyone else.”
“Like I care, Sakura is better in bed anyway.” Tetsu lied but Hyde only shook his head and turned to face out of the window just wanting to go home. Eventually Tetsu got the hint and took him back in silence assuming Hyde was still mad and upset. Hyde wasn't. If anything he felt liberated in the realisation he didn't need Tetsu, that he could walk away and didn't actually owe him anything. In fact Tetsu owed him everything but he'd let that slide. He just wanted to be free to live his life as he saw fit.
Hyde had slept well for most of the morning and awoken in a good mood. He felt energised and happy and it stunned him to realise it was Gackt who had done that to him. He hurried about his daily business before finding his favourite cains:feel DVD and watching it with a smile, his attention entirely on Gackt this time. Clearly meeting the vocalist had put him into his favour which was perfectly logical and made sense. Watching the fan service made Hyde smiled happily knowing, to his surprise, that he could actually ask Gackt to do anything he wanted. Within reason off course but perhaps if he suggested a position Gackt would agree? It was something he had never done before but he knew the vocalist was trying to win his affection. He could use that to his advantage surely? But then what did he want from the other that he wasn't already getting?
The door bell broke his train off thought and he got up to answer it finding Kaz at his door step. He seemed worried and Hyde invited him in straight away before offering him a drink or something to eat.
“I'm fine.” Kaz replied. “Tetsu sent me, said you were acting strange?”
“Ahhh yeah, it's because we broke up last night, this morning.” Hyde corrected himself at the last minute. “Must be stunned.”
“You guys broke up?” Kaz asked surprised. “I thought...”
“My love has trapped me, I see that now.” Hyde replied. “Off course I still love him, I adore him, but I can't be his.”
“Why not?” Kaz asked. “It's worked so far?”
“I've been thinking about trying a real relationship.” Hyde explained. “Only, then I’d need a normal job right?”
“You can't leave me!” Kaz complained. “What if clients want two off us? You know I like you best.”
“I can't be a whore for ever.” Hyde pointed out. “I don't know what to do but I know my future no longer involves Tetsu.”
“Could it involve me?” Kaz asked. “I'd happily date a whore.”

“I think you know the answer.” Hyde replied. “If it was anything but this and I could do it wouldn't I be there doing it right now?”

“Why a fisherman?” Hyde wondered out loud.
“I'm random like that.” Kaz replied smiling as he noticed the image on the TV screen. “But you know, if he ever wants a three way...”
“I'll keep you in mind.” Hyde promised knowing that Gackt would never want to share. He was strangely old fashioned when it came to things like that.
