Fascinating as always. . . Eliot is heartbreaking, despite all his strengths he needs so much protection, from himself and his own isolation as much as from the world and the Agency. I look forward to your next installment, keep up the great work :-)

Thank you! I've been very uncertain about how vulnerable Eliot appears in this 'verse--how vulnerable he IS, given the right circumstances. I'm glad you like it!

I agree that his vulnerability is about situation and circumstance and also think that a lot of his strength is about hiding the vulnerability. (if that makes any sense)

Thank you! I'm so glad you like it!

Eliot's just so freaking confused that yeah, that tends to really come out. Hiding his face behind his hair was something my muse started bashing me over the head with a while back, and Nathan fit into the idea too. :)

Excuse me, I have to go do something about all the plot bunnies spawned by the preview for next week's ep. (if you didn't see it, stop here) Arms dealers with an orphanage? And my 'verse to play with it in? My muse is having a field day.

Ok, I must confess something to you. From my old-timer understanding of slash, this lovely little installment does not qualify for the label seeing as there was no... kissing or sex involved, although it is clear Nate and Eliot have some kind of a more friendly relationship than just coworkers. The lead-up to Eliot being in Nate's bed would be the slash... I was all set of a hot and steamy love scene and got nightmares. That'll teach me to read summaries ( ... )

My understanding of slash is that if there are two guys explicitly in a relationship, that's slash. (And actually, they haven't had sex yet. Eliot isn't going to let his guard down THAT quickly. This will be mentioned in the next part... But Eliot's staying with Nate because of "Shattered", and Nate lives in a tiny apartment, and Eliot is annoyed enough with Nate trying to take care of him that he won't let Nate stay on the couch. Thus, they are staying in the same bed. I will try to explain that in the story somewhere.) Sadly, though, my muse is much more of an angst whore than a sex fiend. Maybe she'll get somewhere soon. I know one scene she has planned involving a kiss, at least ( ... )

Thank you!

I was out of town for a couple days visiting family, didn't play around on the computer (:O), but I'm back now! (And my muse just told me how Eliot and Nathan will OFFICIALLY get together...)

I like Nate right here. For some reason, protective Nate pushes one of my buttons. Thanks!

:) Thank you! I'm glad you like it! Eliot's more vulnerable in this 'verse, and so Nate is correspondingly more protective. Which will be going on... for a long time. Maybe forever. Bit of a role reversal, Nate being the put-together one... But that's half the fun.
