Apple announces cheaper KoolAid

I don't know if it's a sign that it just wasn't competitive enough or Apple plans to make it up on the mandatory two-year AT&T contracts. But the iPhone 2.0 will be available next month for only $199. Personally, I think they'll make it up on the contracts.

I'd drink the Kool Aid if AT&T actually had service around here. Maybe they'll buy enough of the small carriers around here to compete with Verizon and Sprint.

Have you seen this from Jeff Glover http://glovercom.livejournal.com/182287.html yet? One more reason NOT to get an iPhone.

*sigh* Oh well. I guess I'll stick with my crappy Virgin Mobile phone.

Data plans for the new phone are $10 more/month x 24 months = $240 which makes it MORE expensive than the original. Either way, they get your money. They ain't stupid...just patient.
