I admire you for going for it. As for drawing, well, the Right Side of the Brain book is classic, but if you're animating, you are going to need a LOT of anatomy practice in particular, and I don't know about resources specific to that. You know who I'd ask, though?
I'd go to Tumblr, follow a crapload of good artists there who are working in styles you like, and then start posting questions and see who responds. Tumblr is not my favorite place but there are so many good artists there, and I've noticed that a lot of them post tutorials and/or links to books and other resources they use.
