when it comes to what they eat from, there are different versions, depends on the legend/kind of vampire. But Blood is the most common one & you can't really think of them feeding in blood as a human feeding on normal food

Yeah, I know blood is their food, and I see what you mean with them getting their strength from it but it's strange for me. Since I want to write about vampires, I want to make it real enough... and in my thoughts it isn't working with "just blood".

It's not really that I want to make the perfect vampire. Just would like to know people's thoughts on vampires. I know it's my job to build the world with vampires in my fiction. :) The answers help, You basically give me inspiration for my story.

but the thing is that vampires aren't real & even if they were they are mystical creatures, non human, so they can't really be like an human. But anyway, when it comes to vampires in the actual world, maybe True Blood does it best (the tv show or the books) they normalize vampires as much as it can be, being a part of the civilization, being 'out of the coffin'.

In most of the stuff I read or watched vampires only 'eat' blood. But there are also vampires who can eat normal food along the blood. Like always, it depends.

But anyway, don't worry too much, your vampires can be like you want, it always depends on the author. See what twilight did & they still call edward a vampire...

One of my friends told me about the different vampire-versions. The nosferatu, ugly but clever creatures; the Lugosi-type Dracula, the black-type with it's end-point Blade; even some mummies - not blood but soul-suckers - some zombies, and mutants can be seen as vampires, etc. All different types give much to think about... but sadly I'm the lazy type, so if I don't want to make a to long book, I need to choose what types will be in the story.

Thanks! :) I'll try not to worry much, but still think Your answers help me to form my story better. I also find just the thoughts of others on this topic interesting. My search may have begun wanting to know more about an unknown topic, but now I'm really interested in how others see myths like blood-suckers.

Oh, I see. Well, I only read a trilogy based on it, but my friends told me, I should read the guide-book to the game.
