I can't help it, I know I'm crazy to get excited because this is madness, it is way too much money, it is not going to happen. They're only at 10% of their goal. How can you raise 2 million dollars through individual donations of $20, $30? Impossible. It is an impossible dream

It can happen. RiffTrax recently did one of these to raise funds to riff "Twilight" live in theaters (they needed money to buy the rights). They got what they needed, IIRC, in less than a day.

Where there's a fervent enough fanbase, anything can happen. :-)

You may be right! I wouldn't have believed they could be just under halfway there already!

Though probably after the immediate fervor dies down, the really hard push for the last chunk will begin...

I'm so excited about this, I can't even describe it. They're already at $1.3 million after just a few hours!!

I did the math too, and the number of contributors they had when the donation total hit 2 mil makes it an average of about $60.00 per person. I'm sure the real donations were actually all over the map, but isn't it kind of amazing to think that enough people donated that sixty bucks a pop totals up to enough to make a movie?
