There were some things that weren't "just so" and had things been "just so" it would have been even better. But as I said before, the attitude is the critical part. Without that, the site could meet every item on a checklist and still be the setting for a lousy event.

The Martin Luther College Renaissance Faire was today. My folks are visiting this weekend so they could attend this faire. When that was first suggested I was concerned they'd come a great distance for very little.

I got home, changed, and checking the time we decided that dining in New Ulm was workable. Another visit to the Kaiserhoff, and while I did try another of Schell's products, I didn't have anything just too heavy to eat as I opted for the special: salmon. Saturday jmaynard and I got properly dressed for the occasion and went to Sioux Falls for the Siouxland Renaissance Association's Winterfest gathering/feast. When we arrived we found that we'd been at that location before for another Siouxland event. Last year was the last Iowa Renaissance Festival in the Amana Colonies on Labor Day weekend. The IRF organizer is moving it to early May and has something planned for Des Moines on Labor Day weekend and the next couple weekends.

I saw a notice for a new faire (Warning: The site is hosted on Tripod so don't expect it to work right and do expect it to be spammy) in New Ulm. I'm a bit concerned that this is the "Martin Luther College Renaissance Faire" and they need to use a Tripod web site.
