I saw your entry on the support board and I think I have an idea as to how you can gain access to the username "vain." Since the community is no longer active, there really is no use for it. According to this (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=221) FAQ, if a maintainer has abandoned their community, there are only certain circumstances in which a member can gain control of the community: 1) unresponsive maintainers, 2) harrassment and spam. If you join the community, then file a report with the abuse team because there is no active maintainer, then you might be able to gain control of the community. To make your chances of taking over the community even better, create a fake troll account, post some annoying spam for a few weeks, and then ask lj abuse if you can have maintainership rights so you can delete the spam. Certainly they won't care enough to check up on your supportboard requests (I'm sure they're too busy for that) and figure out what you're really up
