I've never read Dragonriders of Pern. I initially thought it was a Klingon version. I bet that's been done before.... Hmmm... a quick Google search isn't bringing up anything. Maybe I've found my calling for crossover fan fic?

Having read both sources, I am deeply disturbed.

(Then again, I'm also disturbed every time I re-read the Dragonriders of Pern and realize how un-disturbed I was by certain aspects of the books when I first read them as a teenager.)

If the stories are PG-13, then...
