Poor Lorraine.

After taking Lorraine to the Raj restaurant a few months ago to try Indian food she has gained a real taste for it, so much so we have been eating Raj take-away at least once a week for the last couple of months (because we have no cooker - honest). Anyhow we’ve been working our way through the various curries and they have been getting very slowly ( Read more... )

Oh dear ... I've seen people make that mistake before and you know that you really shouldn't laugh BUT ;)

Don't worry about next week - I've got something a bit more delicate planned!

Lorraine says 'thank god for that and please done hide any green beans in her meal she's gone right off them.' ;)

Looking forward to Tuesday.

What's gone wrong with the world?

Lorraine's eating curries and I'm voluntarily eating salad - I think that we've slipped into an alternative reality or some such :S

haha :') That cheered me right up

Does remind me of one time where me and my mates weren't sure whether we had sweet chillies or spicy chillies, so my friend just started chomping into a raw one. Figured out it was mighty spicy, so grabbed the milk from the fridge to wash it down.

I don't want to speculate how long the milk had been in the fridge.. I swear it was damn near the lumpy stage.

He didn't look too good after that

Dont worry babe. I did EXACTLY the same thing - in a restaurant.
Karen had bitten into this green chilli thing, and was like "ooh, this is pretty hot". I had a skinful of lager, and did the whole macho bollocks - "Nah, it cant be THAT hot" and munched the whole thing.

It was the hottest chilli known to man.

Theres no drink on the table. 5 mins later Im up and running for the bathroom. I tripped up in the restaurant, much to the amusement of all my mates. SPED to the bathroom and doused the flames.

Amusing now, NOT at the time !

Oh dear. At least I don't feel so silly now. Worst part was, because the kitchen is being done, I tried to run to the kitchen sink before realising there wasn't one, and had to run all the way upstairs to the bathroom choking all the way! Doh!

Dhansak is the way to go curry wise :D Not too hot, but has lentils in the sauce to make it nice and creamy. Couple that up with some Saag Aloo and a couple of bhajis and onion salad and you have a veritable indian feast.

I also like to start with a prawn puri if I'm feeling especially hungry.

Is Dhansak a tomato based or a cream based curry? As I can only have the tomato based ones.

I would have thought tomato.

But I will find out for definite.
