The man who had his grip on Jaejoong’s shoulder tightened, gasped in astonishment. It seemed that he might have known Jaejoong from their previous high-school, back when he was a transferred student in Korea. Yes, there was no doubt about it. No doubt that he could mistake Jaejoong with some other random Japanese men because this golden haired man recognized Jaejoong’s distinctive look at the tip of his fingers. Jaejoong was someone special to him.
“Kim Jaejoong-san, can you hear me?” The man asked as he cupped Jaejoong’s left cheek with his hand as the other one tried to steady their shaky posture. He stiffened when he received no response from the paler man in his arms now.
“Kim Jaejoong-san?” He tried once again, slapping gently on the pale cheek this time around. Still, Jaejoong did not move an inch. He was literally lifeless. Cold. Empty.
Panic quickly overtook him as the man hurriedly carried Jaejoong to his car, making sure not to slip due to the wet road. He closed the back door as he rushed towards the front seat. In no time, the man drove away to possibly the nearest hospital that he could find.
Little did he know, there was another car following closely behind his silver metallic Audi. And the one who was driving it was indeed none other than a very curious and somewhat furious Jung Yunho.
Following the car from behind like a sneaky obedient little puppy, Yunho kept shifting in his seat. He was there on the bridge a few seconds before the golden haired man pulled to a stop. He did not expect for that unknown guy to pullover and what more to carry Jaejoong in his arms and into his car. The sight of that left him wondering.
Who’s that guy? Why did he have to go to that extent?
Yunho wondered in his head, train of thoughts never seemed to stop even for just a second. The Japanese guy did not ring a bell to him, nor did he think Jaejoong has had anything to do with him. And this made him much more curious than he had ever been.
But most importantly, why did he try to jump?
Yunho started to push hard on the pedal, trying not to lose sight of the car he was following rather carefully from behind. He tapped his index finger in rhythm on the steering wheel as his heavy eyes squinted to shield away from bright lights of other cars from the opposite lanes.
Did I cause him to do that? Yunho thought to himself.
Sure, he felt really uneasy during the drive back from Ga Jin’s mansion. He could just feel that something terrible was going to happen. But no, Yunho never expected that it would have anything to do with Jaejoong. No, anyone but Jaejoong.
When he was crossing the Rainbow Bridge just now, Yunho could not help but to notice the small figure struggling to lift himself up against the railing of the bridge. He recognized the flawless face of Jaejoong instantly as he slowed down his car. Yunho wondered though. If Jaejoong really did hurt Ga Jin, did he have to go to that extent just because Yunho called him names he clearly deserved?
No.
Certainly not.
That is most probably because Kim Jaejoong did not ever do those horrendous things, Yunho now comprehended straight to his fist-size brain.
How could he? When he himself understands it perfectly how awful it is to be hurt.
Realization finally hits him hard on the face; he was wrong all along. Jaejoong, the angelic Jaejoong would have never even thought about doing those awful acts to anyone at all, what more to a young girl like Ga Jin. No, he isn’t someone who can be such a monster towards mankind. Jaejoong would most likely just ignore those people instead of attacking them physically. No, Jaejoong was never like that. Regardless of any kind of fucked up situations.
“Oh God,” Yunho could only choked upon his words.
How he had made the biggest mistake in his entire life. Accusing Jaejoong without giving him chance to explain, calling him names without realizing how hurtful those words would make him feel… but no, nothing would hurt Jaejoong so much compared to spatting in his face that he did not deserve to be love but to be loathe instead. Yunho knew, anyone would have felt like their skins had been torn apart if someone spatted those painful words towards them. And he also knew perfectly, Jaejoong was no exception.
“Fuck fuck fuck!” Yunho was mad at himself now, banging the steering wheel and almost cost him his life when he lost control of it for a second. He sighed in relieved though, when the Audi he had been following was still in his sight and it turned at the corner to what seemed like St. Luke’s International Hospital main entrance.
Yunho slowed down his car as he watched the unknown man parked his own and off, carrying Jaejoong in his arms in to the hospital. Slightly overwhelmed and somewhat confused as to what he should do next, Yunho drove towards the same parking space and parked his Camaro. He quickly got off it and hurried himself in to the same hospital. Not knowing what to do, he waited in the waiting area. Not so patiently, of course.

“How is he, doctor?” The man asked as he sat beside the hospital bed. He bore his gaze straight to the sleeping Jaejoong on the bed.
“He’s fine now. He might have passed out due to the cold weather. You were quick to bring him here or else he’d be suffering from hypothermia, Yamashita-san,” the doctor gave the man known as Yamashita a gentle pat in the back. He then, walked out of the room with a small smile plastered on his face, assuring the younger man.
Yamashita-san?
Feeling somewhat dizzy, Jaejoong finally flung open his eyes. He looked around- eyes somewhat wet-to his new surroundings. Wait, what?
Where is the bridge? Did I manage to jump off it? Am I in Heaven? I shouldn’t be. That would be ridiculous. I’m gay, after all. Gay people can’t go to Heaven. Or can they? That doesn’t really make any sense. Or does it?
“Kim Jaejoong-san, you’re awake!”
Just like that, a vaguely familiar figure came to his sight, interrupting his ridiculous thoughts. Jaejoong squinted his watery eyes to get a better view of this somewhat good looking Japanese man.
“Kim Jaejoong-san? Do you remember me? It’s me, Yamapi!”
The man, who referred himself as Yamapi, stared at Jaejoong with meaningful eyes, hoping madly to get a positive feedback from the latter. He knew somehow, Jaejoong remembers him just as much as he does.
Seeing the full face in front of him, Jaejoong abruptly shot up. He looked as if he was going to fall off the bed anytime soon but the older one grabbed him in time to steady his posture.
“Hey, easy… Take it easy, Jae. I take it you do remember me, don’t you?” Yamapi said as he slowly guided Jaejoong’s smaller body back on the bed. He could feel the body’s stiffened underneath his touches as he fought back the smirk that was threatening to creep out on his face.
“I- I do. Yes… wow. How… how long has it been?” Jaejoong managed to get the words out despite stuttering horribly in the process. He was nervous, yes, nervous to be around this Yamapi guy. It brought back memories of somewhat years ago.
They were in the same high school- the previous one before Jaejoong moved to another high school which he then met Yunho- and was practically best friends. Since Jaejoong is the only son in the family with a whole lot of sisters, Yamapi made him feel like he had a brother. He depended a lot on the older latter and whatever he did, he would always went to Yamapi for advice or sometimes, he would just feel like telling Yamapi for no reasons at all. That was how comfortable they were with each other.
Until one day, a sudden kiss from the other one broke them apart. Yamapi had kissed Jaejoong on the lips, once when they were walking back home from school. He totally got Jaejoong off guard and the latter was so shocked that he avoided Yamapi for almost a week before transferring to another school. That particular event had changed Jaejoong completely. Why not, he never once did question his sexual orientation. Buf after that little incident, Jaejoong was not so sure anymore.
He began to have weird feelings whenever he is around men. It was driving him mad because the last thing that Jaejoong wanted was to be different. Different than the others. That is why when he was in the new school; he acted cold to everyone around him. Not wanting to be close to anyone, afraid that they would notice his differences. He was so scared, alone, and completely insecure with everything that was happening around him. And Yunho… well, he only made things worse.
“Excuse me?”
Jaejoong moved his stare from Yamapi to the door behind him. His eyes went ten times wider at the figure the door was revealing. The fuckkkk.
“What are you doing here?” Jaejoong’s voice cracked as a result from suppressing a huge amount of anger. He could barely look at the guy in front of him now.
Realizing Jaejoong’s sudden cold behavior towards the latter, Yamapi roused from his seat to somewhat greet the man dressed rather neatly.
“Ah, hello there. I’m Yamashita. And you are?” He asked as he hold out a hand towards Yunho.
Gazing swiftly at Jaejoong, Yunho shook Yamapi’s hand firmly.
“I’m Jaejoong’s employer.”
“Excuse me?” Jaejoong instantly snapped. He shot a death glare, one enough to send shivers down anyone’s spine… including Yunho.
“You’re no one. Now get the fuck out of my face.” Jaejoong spat harshly as he looked away, afraid that he would swing his hand to Yunho’s face if he kept staring at the man.
Hearing this, Yamapi was shocked. He was really dumbfounded over this newfound situation. Not knowing what to do, he tried to be wise and somewhat cool down the already hot atmosphere in the room.
“I’m sorry, but I think it’s better if you leave now.” Yamapi said as nice as he could. Somehow, he felt the need to protect Jaejoong, like he always does back in those good old days.
Yunho twitched. He looked at Yamapi in disbelief. “I don’t think you understand, Yamashita-san. I have unfinished business with him,” Yunho finished as he harshly pulled Jaejoong by the wrist, forcing him to get up from the bed.
Jaejoong immediately protested as he gave a hard slap on Yunho’s face. The pain hits him like being shot with a gun over and over again. Jaejoong then pushed him hard on the chest, causing the man to almost fall flat on the floor.
Jaejoong glared as he took Yamapi’s hand in his, leaving the golden haired man in confusion.
“No. It’s you who don’t understand. He’s my boyfriend.”
He’s my boyfriend.
Yunho’s jaw dropped.
Yamapi’s eyes widened.
It was not fate. It was a lie. Jaejoong knew it was a lie. Yamapi knew it was a lie. But Yunho would never have guessed that it was just a lie. Nothing more than that. It couldn't be more than that.
TBC.
