CHAPTER NINE
“He’s my boyfriend.”
Those words echoed a little too loud in Yunho’s head.
He instantly pulled the car to a stop, got out of it and slammed the door… hard. He just could not believe what he had heard from Jaejoong himself. The fact that the Japanese guy that he had never seen in his entire life turned out to be Jaejoong’s partner was just way too surreal for him to take in.
“YAH KIM JAEJOONG!” Yunho shouted to what seemed like the whole Tokyo City down below him. The beautiful lights from each skyscraper amazed him for a mere second but those thoughts were then washed away by the rage he felt in him now.
After the shocking confession, Yunho stormed out of the hospital feeling somewhat humiliated by it. He could not forget the look that Jaejoong gave him. He did not want to comprehend what it means, though Yunho clearly knew it meant hatred and satisfaction all over the latter’s face.
That’s what you get for hurting him, Jung Yunho.
The fist he held in his hand tightened just as much as his chest did. The feelings of remorse surrounded him at this instance.
How he had messed up big time, Yunho thought in his mind. Now, what could he possibly do to make things right again? It was not as if he could easily get rid of his fiancé, Ga Jin. No, he could not. Even more so Yunho knew his father would urge them to get married anytime soon. So, what’s left for him to do? Beg for apologies?
Heck no.
What he did… what he said to Jaejoong; Yunho knew that he will never be forgiven even if he got down to his knees. Even if he screamed out loud in despair, even if he hurt himself for sympathy and even if he threatened the latter to be with him, Yunho knew Jaejoong could not care any lesser about him. There won’t even be a small portion of care in him to be exact. If it was them eight years ago, then it would make at the very least a different. But now, everything seems impossible when it comes to Jaejoong. Not even Yunho-well, at least before he spat those horrible words-can soften up this furious Jaejoong. Let’s just say he was really out of anyone’s control now.
Is this the end, then?
Yunho felt his chest tightened even more.
Jaejoong… has he lost him?
He did. Yunho felt like he did. But wait. Did Jaejoong ever belong to him in the first place though?
Yunho sighed for what seemed like the nth time already, rummaging through his now messy hair in the process. What is going to happen to him now? Is he going to get married to the woman he never loves and lives in nothing but lies? Is he just going to sit and watch the man he loves be with someone else? The man he loves?
Yes.
Yunho admitted now… he still and always will love Jaejoong. He never stops-well, he thought he did but he did not. He may have said so many terrible things to the man, but they were all washed away once he got back to his senses. He did not mean any of it though, but of course it would not matter now. Yunho already blew off every single chance he had to be with Jaejoong. He blew it off without even completely knowing that he did.
But it was not like he could just easily give up, too. Yunho knew he could never live without Jaejoong. Not after they finally met each other again, like this exact time. He was not going to let Jaejoong slip away from him once more. He knew he had to do something, no matter what it takes. He was determined.

“You still don’t want to talk about it?” The man in the driver’s seat glanced to his right. A paler man with his head down low only gave him a shrug in return. He was not in the mood of explaining or whatsoever, what more to the man beside him now.
“Thank you, Yamapi-san… for bringing me to the hospital,” Jaejoong obviously tried to change the subject as he cracked a small yet sweet smile towards the golden-haired man.
It had been exactly two days since Jaejoong first got admitted to the hospital. The doctor had to detain him for a while in order to bring his body temperature back to normal again. And in these two days, Yamapi was the one who waited patiently by his side, bringing him outside food when his appetite gave out upon seeing the cafeteria’s or simply to accompany him for a little chat. He was just, always there.
Only today, Jaejoong got to go back home after the doctor seemed satisfied with his medical reports and Yamapi, being the usual caring self he is, naturally offered to send him back home.
“Yamapi-san? San? Seriously, Jae… why the formality?” Yamapi could not help but to chuckle as he leaned forward to pinch Jaejoong in the nose. It caught him off guard as Jaejoong froze, looking at Yamapi in disbelief with a deep blush on his cheeks. Seeing this only made Yamapi added a grin underneath his mad chuckling.
“I should… I should go now. Thank you again, Yamapi-sa-,” Jaejoong paused. He was not going to look fragile in front of the man who had purposely teased him just now.
“-Yamapi.” Jaejoong finished as he got out of the car and immediately disappear inside his rented house, not once did he turn back to properly bid goodbye to his senior.
Yamapi watched in amusement and smiled to himself. Jaejoong was still his clumsy self, the main reason as to why he could fall in love with that said latter in the first place. He did not know just yet as to why Jaejoong resided in Japan and he did not know just yet; what was the relationship between him and Yunho. But no matter what it was, Yamapi had absolutely no intention of making this the last encounter of him and Jaejoong. No, he looked forward to meet him once more. Or twice. Or even thrice. It did not matter. He just wanted to see him again.

He flipped the channels, the images flashed on his plasma TV was not interesting enough for it to last for more than three seconds until it moved on to the next channel.
“The fuck,” Jaejoong cussed as he leaned flat on the sofa, frustrated.
He was not really mad and frustrated about the fact that there were no interesting shows for him to watch on TV. Heck that was the least in his ‘worries’ list. Jaejoong was actually mad just thinking that he was now jobless than ever and frustrated when he did not exactly have back-up plans for it. And it all concluded to being on the very top of that said list.
“This is all your fault, Jung Yunho,” Jaejoong grunted.
But wait a second.
Speaking of the devil, where is he now?
It was not as if Jaejoong give a damn about him, but not seeing Yunho for a while now made him curious. What was he up to? Or worse, what wasn’t he up to?
After their encounter at the hospital, Jaejoong saw no more of Yunho. He also heard no more of him. It was as if he was gone to some neverland and never had any intentions of returning. It bugged Jaejoong in some ways, if not much, a tad bit.
Was it over already? I mean, just like that? Did he buy it? Did he buy it that I have a boyfriend now? So, that’s why he’s giving up?
Jaejoong smiled to himself. He hoped Yunho did buy it. It would make him feel so much better as if someone had lifted up the pain that weighed heavily on his chest. He was done for it. Yunho went overboard. And Jaejoong was not the kind to forgive and forget. The pain he felt in his heart told him not to forgive and the anger he kept in his mind told him to never forget. And that was that.
Just as he was about to be drifted away to sleep, Jaejoong’s phone on the table broke the deafening silence in the living room. He shot up, slightly surprised. He immediately leaned forward, grabbed the phone and could not believe what his eyes were seeing on the screen.
“What. The. Hell,” Jaejoong cursed in disbelief upon seeing the lame old ‘My Lovely Yunho’ on the phone’s screen that he never had the chance to change. He pressed the ‘reject’ button without even thinking and quickly tried to edit the contact into something much more suitable.
‘Bastard’? Hmmm.
‘Fucktard’? That sounded quite good actually.
Or ‘Cheese tarts’? Jaejoong laughed to himself. It sounded appropriate when you looked at it. Yunho was always so cheesy to the point that it just did not make any sense anymore. But then ‘Cheese tarts’ lack the offensive meaning it was supposed to hold in the first place.
He was about to type in the fourth letter when Yunho called once again. And this time, Jaejoong accidentally pressed the ‘accept’ button, leaving him all mad at himself for being so careless. He panicked for a while before pressing the ‘reject’ button for the second time.
Not more than five seconds after that, his phone rang yet again. Not able to keep calm anymore, Jaejoong answered it harshly.
“WHAT?!” He shouted through the earpiece.
“Where are you?” Yunho’s voice at the end of the line sounded a little too calm to his liking. It made Jaejoong uneasy in a weird kind of way.
“Why do I have to tell you?” Jaejoong hissed.
“You’ve discharged?”
“It’s none of your problem, cheese tarts!” Jaejoong shouted before disconnecting his phone, feeling somewhat accomplished.
Wait… just what the fuck was that?
“CHEESE TARTS? Kim Jaejoong, you could do so much better than that!” Jaejoong fell back on the sofa, cursing to himself over and over again for calling Yunho ‘cheese tarts' instead of those much horrible ones he made up earlier. Maybe it was the nerve that was getting into him that had caused him to accidentally slipped out those words.
“Aishhh, so frustrating!” Jaejoong sighed as he pulled his hair harshly, trying so hard not to think about what had just happened. It would be his worst nightmare if Yunho were to think he made a fool out of himself just now. That was exactly what he feared the most. He could not afford to lose in this somewhat mind-twisted fight between them.
It amazed Jaejoong that Yunho had stopped calling him after just three tries. This guy got lesser guts than I expected, Jaejoong thought to himself. He felt relieved though, or else he would not know what to do or how to react if anything were to happened.
“Ding dong!” The sudden ring of his door bell stopped Jaejoong from his mini-celebration of accomplishment. He jerked a little, looking at the clock just across the room. It was only almost 9 p.m. and from his experience, that would have to be his next door neighbor.
The old couple runs a food stall just down the street and they often came back with a lot of leftovers. Ever since Jaejoong moved to that place, the couple would not miss a single day without offering him the leftovers and Jaejoong was more than happy to receive them. To him, they make the most delicious Japanese food that he could find in the region.
Smiling over his luck for having super-friendly neighbors, Jaejoong rushed towards the door. He would not want to keep the old couple waiting out there in the cold. It would not be polite to do so.
When he got to the front of his house, Jaejoong immediately swung open the door… and to his astonishment, the image it revealed was not the one he was expecting. His eyes went ten times wider.
“Don’t say anything.” With that said, the man who was none other than Jung Yunho, pulled Jaejoong into his arms and sealed their lips with a kiss.
It took Jaejoong quite a while to fully comprehend what exactly was happening before he finally pushed Yunho harshly on the shoulder. His action, however, only got Yunho to tighten his arms around Jaejoong and locked their lips once again.
Jaejoong was helpless now, he did not move his lips to the same rhythm as Yunho’s, and he tried not to go along to the same beat as well. Yunho was not expecting any more than a rejection, so it was not a surprise to him that Jaejoong did not give him a full 'cooperation'.
“I’m sorry… I know it’s too late now…” Yunho’s words brushed against Jaejoong’s luscious lips one by one. It sent him shivers down his spine to be so close to Yunho, feeling his hot breath all over his pale face.
“… but I realized that I can’t live without you, Jaejoong-,” he paused, reaching a hand up to cup Jaejoong’s soft cheek.
“… I realized that I love you.”
I love you so much, Jaejoong.
