[A/N] Hey guys. I am finally writing again after such a long unplanned hiatus. Hee. My bad, but I would like to politely place all the blames to a severe Writer's Block I had for quite some times as well as my hectic uni's life :\ Blergh. I don't even know where to begin with so let's not begin it in the first place LOLOLOL. Anyway, this is dedicated @msnerdsays because she's been requesting a one-shot for me for so long now. And I'm gonna give her 3-shots because of that :)) Enjoy!

PERFECT STRANGERS; Part l

Christmas is here… again.

The young man covered in multiple layers of winter coat entered the enormous and well-known gift shop. The small bell- hanging on top of the door- rang, indicating his presence. As soon as the door closed itself again, he stood still on the doormat. His ears immediately twitched uncomfortably to the jolly Christmas song that has been occupying the shop ever since who knows when. Probably since autumn, he thought wryly.

Kim Jaejoong let his eyes wandered around as he took steps after steps forward, exploring the gigantic and heavily decorated shop. These whole Christmas thingy gave him nothing but headache and… just plain headache. If it weren’t for the fact that his families are coming to town, Jaejoong would have never even step a foot in the gift shop, what more to buy presents. Christmas frickin’ presents!

“Urgh… I hate Christmas,” he mumbled under his breath, rolling his eyes in total annoyance.

True, what’s there to love about Christmas when you’re Kim Jaejoong? The Kim Jaejoong that had his heart practically broken 3 years ago on Christmas.

What’s there to love?

Jaejoong walked along the aisle full of various types of snow globes; the cute one, the slightly cute one and the kind that makes you think twice to even touch it. He picked a few of those cute ones and casually placed them inside the shopping basket that he had grabbed just outside the shop.

Jaejoong strode along to the next aisle. This time, the racks were covered with little figures of snowmen, Christmas trees and the ever-so-famous hanging socks. He picked two for each items and walked straight towards the cashier situated exactly at the center of the shop. He just could not stay there any longer, even just for a minute. These songs and decorations and Christmas itself are making him feel pretty much uneasy and extremely uncomfortable.

Burying his head deep into the basket, Jaejoong slowly took out the stuffs and off they went on top of the counter. He was still busy doing so when the cashier suddenly started a conversation, “Last minute Christmas shopping, sir?”

When the basket was already empty, Jaejoong lifted his head; eyes finally met the cashier’s. The sight at what he was seeing made him feel flustered inside.  A tall, young and pretty darn handsome man was smiling back at him, eyes somewhat shimmering from the bright lights in the shop. Jaejoong could not hide the amazement he felt as his rosy lips parted a bit on its own.

Slightly embarrassed of himself, Jaejoong tried to fight a blush.

“Ahh, yeah. I just wish it’ll pass quickly. I don’t know…,” he paused and flashed an awkward smile towards the cashier.

“… Christmas is just… so foreign to me now.”

Taken aback, the young cashier- whose name is apparently J. Yunho as stated boldly on his name tag- replied with a questioning look.

“What do you mean, foreign?” Yunho asked. His hands were busy scanning the price tags on the stuffs that Jaejoong just took out from the shopping basket, though his eyes were somewhat trying to catch a glimpse of the man in front of him once in a while.

Yunho thought Jaejoong looked extremely stunning in that beige winter coats of his; cheeks flushed to the color of sweet light pink and it complemented his pale skins perfectly. Just, everything about him screams out the word perfection.

Jaejoong looked as if he did not expect the cashier to wonder about it, probably because he was too busy staring back at the taller man. He struggled for a while, regained his composure after mere seconds and cracked a defeated yet appealing smile towards Yunho.

“Long story. You don’t want to know.”

Yunho nodded in understanding, not wanting to pry any further. He accepted the notes that Jaejoong handed him just this instant and returned him back with the appropriate change. He was still packing the goods when the ringtone from Jaejoong’s phone startled the both of them.

“Sorry,” Jaejoong excused himself and answered the call. From the way he looked and talked, Yunho could sense right away that Jaejoong felt uneasy with the content that him and the caller was discussing.

“Hello? Oh, hey omma… Yeah, I know… no, omma… I even bought Christmas presents for noona-deul. Yes… yes… No, don’t worry about it… yes, I’m fine, omma…,” Jaejoong replied lazily. He was just not in the mood to talk about anything right now. The sudden phone call only made it worse.

“WHAT?!” Jaejoong suddenly shouted to the earpiece. He looked at the startled Yunho in front of him with eyes the size of a golf ball. The said cashier froze.

“You’re bringing someone, too? For… me?” Jaejoong was going hysterical now.

“No, omma! I thought we’ve discussed about this already. No, I don’t want to see anyone right now… Omma, jebal.”

A plea that was left ignored by his mother.

Yunho looked at Jaejoong apologetically. Must be tough, he thought. When Jaejoong regained his composure back again, Yunho gave his best smile towards the latter and handed him the paper bag.

Jaejoong smiled and said, “Sorry about that, but can I get another decent gift? You see, my omma just added another last minute guest on the list and I don’t even know who that would be so, any suggestion?”

Smiling in amusement, Yunho chuckled at the now paranoid customer in front of him, only to receive a questioning look from the latter.

“Sir--,”

“Jaejoong… Just, Jaejoong,” the latter politely introduced himself.

“First, Jaejoong-sshi, you need to calm down. Your omma just added a new guest on the list, not another appa for you,” Yunho fought a laugh and that made Jaejoong looked at him in disbelief.

Wow, he finds this funny. Unbelievable.

“Sorry, Jaejoong-sshi. I didn’t mean to laugh…,” he flashed a smile that melted Jaejoong’s heart just this instance. Instead of getting annoyed over Yunho’s behavior, Jaejoong found himself smiling back at the cashier with sincerity.

He watched as Yunho suddenly walked towards the racks behind the counter and picked two matching phone straps hanging from a miniature Christmas tree. He came back immediately towards Jaejoong and handed the man those phone straps that turned out to be a Christmas tree strap and a star strap-wait, a couple phone straps?

Grinning slightly, Yunho smiled towards Jaejoong. “Give her the star, and keep the Christmas tree to yourself. I’m sure she’ll love it. Simple things like this are the new trend, so I observed. “

Jaejoong set his eyes on the straps in his hand in amazement.

Really? Girls would love simple things like this?

He looked back at Yunho for confirmation, and the man immediately nodded as if saying, “Yes Jaejoong-sshi, I’m not kidding you.”

Jaejoong hesitated for a while but there was no way he could ever doubt Yunho, not with that look he wore on his face. That look of… he could not quite sure what to describe but Jaejoong knew he loved that small face of his.

“Okay then, I guess I’ll take these. How much?” Jaejoong asked as he looked swiftly to Yunho and then back to the wallet in his hand.

Smiling rather sheepishly, Yunho shook his head. He casually snatched the straps from Jaejoong’s grasp and placed them inside the paper bag.

The sudden contact of their naked skins sent shivers down each other’s spines. Yunho felt as if there was electricity jolted down his full body and Jaejoong, he felt as if there were butterflies in his stomach. None of them acted differently-of course- but they were both perfectly aware of the feelings they were feeling right now.

Jaejoong struggled to fight a blush. He looked away for a second, covered his mouth with his hand to hide his sweet smile and finally managed a mumble of ‘thank you’.

Looking at this, Yunho could not help but to flashed a sweet smile towards the shorter latter. He offered back the paper bag to Jaejoong as the other guy willingly accepted it with his pale hands.

Yunho looked at Jaejoong one last time, afraid that this would be their last encounter with each other. He murmured, “I hope you get what you wish for Christmas, Jaejoong-sshi. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”

“Thank you… Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, too- ” Jaejoong paused, not sure as to what to address the cashier that has been having conversation with him for quite a while now. He felt embarrassed for not asking his name in the first place.

“.. Yunho… Jung Yunho,” Yunho immediately held out a hand and Jaejoong did the same just as fast.

“Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, too, Jung Yunho-sshi.”

With that said, Jaejoong excused himself with a smile never leaving his porcelain white face. He found his way through the middle aisle and halted just a few inches from the main entrance. He looked back towards Yunho one last time before whispering to himself.

“Santa, if you really do exist, can you grant me my last minute wish?”

“I want that guy for Christmas.”
