 This autism panic thing is starting to really get on my fucking nerves. Every goddamn day there's another hand-wringing report that more and more kids are being diagnosed with autism followed by another uneducated heart-wrenching celebrity stating they don't use carpet cleaner, don't get shots for their kids, don't let them eat splenda whatever

Whats even worse is when bad/self diagnosis is made, and then gradually your kid is less weird. You've CURED them with the power of positive thinking, prayer, raw food, ferengi mind crystals, etc. Quick lets book you on Oprah!

I can understand a desire to have a "diagnosis." Unfortunately in a lot of cases, insurance won't pay for treatment, and you can't qualify for government programs, unless you have a diagnosis.

I accidentally deleted what I had said when I was going to further add my cousin's "mental disorder" includes being a manipulative bitch obsessed with sex who throws hissy fits when she doesn't get her way. So her parents give her her way instead of punishing her and telling her to stop being such a brat. She may actually have a personality disorder (hystrionic, narcisism, etc) but the fact that they would seek a new therapist instead of taking partial blame as bad parents. . . well that's Ameria.
