[John wanted to be there when Rose woke up. He really did. But he couldn't do that and fight to bring her soul back at the same time. He couldn't be both in the hotel room and out fighting the Shedinja, it just wasn't possible
( ... )
[[She doesn't move as he proceeds to do so, and when he returns she's more than happy to curl up with him again. Don't mind her resting her head against your chest though, John. It's comforting to hear your heart beating.]]
[He says nothing else, opting instead to just lie there in silence. At least until he slips into unconsciousness after a minute or two. Not that there's really much of a noticeable difference. In fact, unless you try talking to him, Rose, you might think that he was still awake. Just...really quiet.]
[[She isn't trying. She's just lying there, staring at the wall, and enjoying the fact that he's living and breathing. And that there is no hole in his chest, and his heart is still held within it and beating as avidly as ever.
When room service arrives, she carefully and quietly leaves his side to let them in, thanking them and pointing them to the table to set the order down on. And once they leave, she gives the food a glance over. She's hungry, and knows she should eat, and knows John should eat...but he was most certainly asleep. And she did not want to wake him.
Instead, she slowly packs it away into the fridge for later, before returning to the bed and her place beside him. Lying her head back on his chest, she's just going to nudge him until he's awake enough to cuddle her again. If he doesn't do that on his own upon her return.]]
[Though he doesn't wake up when she leaves, he does grasp at the empty air, moving to try and continue holding something that isn't there anymore. He whimpers once, rolling over onto his other side but remains unconscious.]
[When she returns, it only takes one nudge to get him to roll back over and hold her again. Slightly tighter than before since he's asleep and not worrying about clinging too hard and scaring her off or some other equally unfounded, foolish worry of his. He sighs happily, squirming a little bit as he snuggles as close to her as he can.]
[[She sighs equally as content, chuckling softly as he tries to get closer. Reaching up, she removes his glasses for them, leaning away just enough to set them on some part of the bed where they won't be rolled over, before moving to slip her arms under his coat and tug him close in return. She doesn't sleep, not wanting to slip back into that nightmarish dreamscape, but she is more than happy to lie there as long as he needs.]]
action let's just keep pretending that this is rose in the icon instead of dave. :|usedwindythingJune 23 2011, 22:54:19 UTC
[Get comfortable, Rose. He's probably going to be out for a while. He may not have worried himself sick, but he definitely worried himself sleepless. Every once in a while he shifts a little, making little sleepy snuffling noises as he snuggles or nuzzles her. At one point, one of those noises sounds suspiciously like a word:]
Action; Yay imagination time. :DusedtherapyJune 23 2011, 23:21:23 UTC
[[She is comfortable. Quite comfortable. And all of the small noises and snuggles and nuzzles only furthers this feeling, really. Almost to the point where she is finally lulled to sleep. But...then he says something.]]
[His only response is another little whimpering noise as he snuggles closer. His eyebrows furrow a bit as a tiny frown crosses his face. It doesn't seem as though he heard you, Rose.]

She tries, her voice a little hoarse from it's general lack of use and her general state of health.]]
Missed what, John?

Rose.
[Though it's hard to tell if he's answering the question or trying to get her attention.]

Yes, John?

[This should be a fun conversation, huh, Rose?]

[[That...made sense, but no sense at the same time. He must be sleep talking, how cute. Chuckling, a smile creeps onto her lips.]]
Did she?

[He's asleep and what is correct grammar?]

Really? Why would she do that? That was awfully silly of her.
