[John wanted to be there when Rose woke up. He really did. But he couldn't do that and fight to bring her soul back at the same time. He couldn't be both in the hotel room and out fighting the Shedinja, it just wasn't possible

[[And she opens her mouth to say something, but no words really come out. So instead she settles for the hug. One she's barely able to return, little strength behind hers, but she returns it to the best of her abilities none-the-less. And for a moment, she almost feels like drifting back to sleep. But the thought if it just brings images from her dream back, and she easily finds herself wide awake again.

Wide awake and remembering his chest.

Gently, she tries to push him back. She loves hugging you, but she needs to make sure your chest is alright, John.]]

[Unfortunately, he has no intention of letting go of you any time soon, Rose. Call him selfish, but even though you want him to move backwards, he refuses to do so. All that gentle push manages to get out of him is a tighter cling and a small whimper.]

[[That whimper translates to pain to her drained mind, which just has her pushing with more insistence. This time accompanied by a weak and weary request.]]

John, please. Just...f-for a few moments.

I'm fine. John requested room service earlier...we have quite a bit of food now to finish.
I haven't touched it yet, as I've been lying with him for a little...he has barely slept, I fear.
But...I'm quite alright. Thank you.

[ Dave saw the message not long after John did, but he assumed (correctly) that John saw it first, and despite wanting to check in on the girl, himself, he thought it was probably better to give the lovebirds their happy reunion alone.

So it's a good while later that he finally slips into the hotel room, himself, knocking softly at the doorframe as he enters. He stops to regard the sight of John finally sleeping before he looks up at his sister. ]

[[She is simply trapped in his sleeping death grip, but doesn't seem to mind it too much. Though the knock gets her attention and she glances over, offering him a little wave and...awfully relieved smile.]]

I was wondering when you'd finally come back.

[ Dave remains serious, unsmiling, but he exhales a little when she smiles at him. He hadn't even realized how worried he was, not until she was sitting here in front of him, awake and alive and apparently not permanently scarred.

He closes the door behind him and comes to sit beside her, glancing down at John. ]

Figured I'd give you two a happy little reunion, first, instead of cockblocking the poor kid.

[[Chuckling softly, she shakes her head at him before reaching out to touch one of his shoulders. In a sort of "is there anything here?" way.]]

How sweet of you, Dave. I am sure he appreciates it.
