[ she was inside taking care of everything (because she's apparently the sane part of this group), but when she hears the commotion coming from her pokegear, she pokes her head outside to see what's going on. ]

[ he looks a little embarrassed, struggling to keep his new baby down off his face. the only thing that seems to appease it is to cuddle it, and so he does, glancing up from the ground he's kneeling on when he hears Yukari's voice. ]

[ she grins and pulls up a chair--and her coat, for that matter, shrugging it on--to sit down on. shadow watches from the doorway, an errant fang glinting in the evening light. ]

How long do they usually take to hatch?

[ standing properly, he pockets his dropped possessions and takes Benji up in his arms, holding him out to the window for Yukari (and Shadow) to see. the Growlithe's just a liiiittle more interested in his trainer, but doesn't pass up the chance to sniff and lick everything within reach. ]

I'm not sure. I thought it would be like a bird's egg, which can take up to a month.

[ another one! for a split second he wonders if maybe that egg somehow produced twins and he just didn't notice, but that can't be. this one's bigger. ]

Ah-hi there.

[ Benji has no problem with sharing, and actually manages to stop jumping all over Suzaku long enough to sniff at this newcomer, tail wag never pausing for a second while his trainer reaches out to pat him. and then glance around to see where he came from. ]

[ smiles back, a little, shaking his head to dismiss the apology. ]

It's alright. He's very sweet. What's his name?

[ hesitant to set his new Growlithe down at first, but when he starts wriggling around he finally lets go, and is relieved to see that he can romp around without falling over. man, baby Pokémon are tough customers. ]

[The last place Yosuke really wanted to be was outside of his bed. He's sick and miserable -- but he still needed to get ready to move on to Violent, sick or not. So now he's out, stopping at the Pokémart for supplies, with both umbrella and very enthusiastic Scyther in tow.

And her interest is very piqued by the scent of a newly hatched, baby Pokémon. So she wanders over to where Suzaku is with a very enthusiatic "SCYYYY-THER!"

Which is followed by Yosuke hoarsely yelling after her-]

Da-dammit, Chie, I told yo-- [Coughing. Yelling hurts.] You can't just bother other people like that! Ughhh, she's so...

So-sorry about that man. She's excitable.

[ Suzaku's just a little bit startled, having never seen a Scyther before, and quickly stands, taking Benji along with him. wild pokemon get out??? but then he relaxes as Yosuke approaches, lowering his Growlithe a little to have a sniff.

It's no trouble. What... is she? I've never seen it before.

[ he'd get out his Pokédex to check, but his hands are kinda full. also, concernicus. what are you doing out in the rain, sick person. ]

Hu-- Oh, yeah. [He clears his throat, letting out a weak chuckle. Not that it helps the raspy voice.] Just getting over a cold. But uh, yeah, she's a Scyther. Guess they're not that common around here.

[He raises a hand to his head, ruffling his already messy hair. Meanwhile, Chie is leaning forward, looking carefully at Benji. She's being very cautious despite her curiousness, thanks to a lesson in being gentle.]

That's a... Growlithe, right? I'm trying to jog my memory over here.

[ Suzaku, I've hope you enjoyed your cool big sis that's all about fun! She seems sort of vain, and yet oddly endearing. Also sort of lackadaisical and lazy so waking her up has been a challenge, right?

Well, now she sees it glowing and she looks overjoyed ]

Now that's quite a hatch! He sort of looks like Haineko!

[ She holds up her Vulpix which just reaches its paw for the trainer and pokemon! ]

[ she reminds him of a certain blond he knows back home, albeit much prettier and much easier to be polite to. and he'll just be smiling at her and her Vulpix, picking Benji up to inspect as she reaches toward them. ]

They are sort of similar. They're both fire-type, at least.

[ Rangiku, obeying the Vulpix's wishes, moves a bit closer. Vulpix moves its paw out and takes a playful swipe at it before pawing it a bit with both parts. Rangiku seems to notice, but is used to Vulpix's delinquent nature. ]

What gender is your Growlithe?! Haineko is a female, and I've been thinking about floating into breeding for some extra money.

[ i.e, for herself but her group is important too! She'd lend if required. Still though, she doesn't seem embarrassed to ask about breeding things to a boy ]

[ Benji's response is a little ruff before he snuffles into some soft Vulpix fur, taking a huge whiff. apparently he deems her good-enough smelling to play with, tongue lolling as he reaches out to paw at her, too. ]

A boy, I believe. I hadn't really thought about breeding... it might not be a bad idea.
