[It's late afternoon on the outskirts of Goldenrod City, where Yagyuu has evidently been out training his team; it's a somewhat unusual sight to see them all out of their Pokeballs at once, but at the moment the full roster has been released to roam around the open expanse of field chosen for today's practice grounds ( Read more... )

I'd certainly hope so; I'd hate to think I was taking improper care of her.

Mm! There's no questioning that you're a very caring trainer, to be able to have her evolve naturally like that.

That's not so for all evolutions, though, isn't that right? The majority of them involve the use of evolutionary stones. It's a rare few that occur naturally.

Is this some kind of Espeon craze that's sweeping the region?

[ you are spared personal space destruction today, Yagyuu; Rise's in the backyard and brushing out her Flareon. ]

Are they that popular? I hadn't noticed.

[Likewise, Rise is spared Yagyuu's menagerie, on one of the rare occasions that they're all (well, almost all) present and accounted for. Behind him, but still within view of the video, his Rapidash and Vulpix trot by.]

One just evolved the other day! And I've known a few... they're really gorgeous, aren't they?

[ good thing Pepper isn't the jealous type, she's close to sparkling. ]

They're certainly purple. It seems Lady ended up taking after her father, after all.

Oh? Did you prophesy this aspect of her life as well, Kirihara-kun?

Well, in my dream, Lady was an Espeon, I think? So yes!

Well, I'm certainly impressed. And what have you foreseen she'll do next?

Ah, thank you, Kihara-kun. It's certainly a pleasant surprise; I wasn't expecting her to evolve for some time yet.

She must've decided she's ready for it just now.

I wonder if I might've offended her, implying that she's the last one to evolve. I'd intended it in the sense of saving the best for last, but she might've taken it as an implication that she's falling behind the rest of the team.

Thank you, Ootori-kun, I'm really quite pleased with her.

[But not as pleased as Lady is with herself, apparently, as she trots over to inspect the Gear like always.]

I didn't know Eevees could evolve without a stone. [and as Lady goes over to inspect the 'gear-] Hello, there.

The stones are the traditional method, as I understand it, but it appears there are some occasions where they'll handle things all on their own.

[Regarding the feed steadily without blinking, Lady lets out a soft coo--not quite the trill that an Eevee would, but something smoother.]
