[Before anything else, there's a tapping sound. A constant rapping, directly against against the microphone. After a minute, it stops and the voice behind that tapping starts to speak;]

Hm, if those directions were right, then...

[It takes a second, not realizing that the audio feed has already started, but without hesitation, he continues.]

[For just a brief moment, Fay's eyebrow quirks; he can't help but notice that tone before the subject was changed. Something is up. He knows this more so now than in the moments prior. He isn't sure just what that is yet, and frankly, he isn't sure he wants to either.]

[But all the very same, he knows that if Kurogane is avoiding the topic, it has to be of the sort of magnitude that can't be brought up right then. So he defaults. His eyes close and his smile widens as he cocks his head to the side slightly.] That's right! Then we'll know what kind of Pokémon Kuro-rin received as well~

[Kurogane is aware that trying to bring anything along those lines up now would be a bad idea. So... he doesn't. It won't sit forever -- Kurogane won't let it sit forever -- but there's nothing to do about it now. So he just nods at Fai's explanation and presses the button.]

[He's not sure what he was expecting, but when the button press abruptly reveals a blue, bi-pedal turtle that promptly greets him with a cheery 'Squirrr!', he's pretty sure that wasn't it.]

[The creature gets a slightly puzzled look from Kurogane. It's... weird. Weirder than the multi-tailed fox that Fai has.]

Kyaaa! It's so cute! [He grins, then frowns for a moment.] I wonder what it is... Ah!

[After a moment, Fay pulls out his Pokédex, remembering that he used it to figure out what Clover was. He fiddles with it for a second, trying to remember exactly how it works. And then! "Squirtle, the tiny turtle Pokémon. The shell is soft when it is born. It soon becomes so resilient, prodding fingers will bounce off it." Fay nods his head. Clover backs up, hiding between Fay's legs. He looks down curiously, then back at the dex before chucking.]

I see! It's okay, Clover-chan! Even if it's a water-type, it's Kuro-pii's Pokémon, so it won't hurt you!

[The Squirtle, on the other hand, seems more curious about Clover than anything. So while Clover cowers away, the turtle creeps closer, letting out a friendly and curious 'Wiirrrrr?' before Kurogane abruptly leans down and scoops her up. He's not sure how they'll react to each other, but he doesn't want them fighting like strange cats.]

If mine's water, is yours fire?

[Fay can't help but chuckle at the antics of the two Pokémon - he thinks it's pretty cute. His eyes wander for a moment, then look at Kurogane with a smile.]

According to this thing, yes~ [He holds up the Pokédex and waves it a little.] I can't say I really understand how it works for Pokémon, but I could see how fire power would have a weakness to water power!
