Some stuff and Day 8
So tomorrow at my Kumon work, the instructor (the one who pretty much runs the place) isn't going to be there. And, as head assistant instructor (not my official title, but it's what I'm going with right now), I'm going to be acting as her replacement for tomorrow's class. There are a lot of people who will be helping of course, but I'm still super nervous about taking charge, so any well-wishes, good thoughts, and prayers would definitely help too.
Anyway, onto the meme.
Day 8 - Do you write OCs? And if so, what do you do to make certain they're not Mary Sues, and if not, explain your thoughts on OCs
Well, I've never really written my OCs out before...except for one in an old Yu-Gi-Oh story, but she only appeared at the end and didn't do much. But I have OCs, mostly just for the fun of them. And to be honest, I'm not sure if I actively do anything to make them not Mary-Sues. I just kind of play around with them in my head, and since they don't go anywhere or do anything, I don't really wonder what other people will think about them.
As for what I think of OCs...as much as I go out of my way to avoid stories with them, I don't really mind them all that much. It's just that most of the time OCs are done pretty much the same way, and they get kind of boring to read after a while. But if an OC happens to catch my eye, I won't mind reading it, just to see what the character will be like.
