Thoughts on the speeches?

Thought McCain's was incredibly gracious and short. Obama started out strong and then got a little meandering but he's pulling us back with the 100+-year-old-woman who lived to see so much. And the sermon like "Yes we can" is bringing it back to the crowd. What did you think?

elections, obama

Obama could have read a haiku about sauerkraut, and I this still would have been one of the happiest days of my life. As it was, he hit all the right notes, serious, beautiful, hopeful, commanding, humble, integrating all the themes of his campaign. I thought McCain gave his best and most human performance of the whole season - he seemed to come back to himself at the very end of the road.

It was incredible. I have never seen people in the US this excited about an election. I tried to go to my local pub and it was standing room only. The even opened up the windows so people on the street could hear the speech.

obama's....well i was glued to the television and I should say the beginning of his speech was pretty good; watching the crowd was more interesting though. some of them were bawlingggg.

McCain was very gracious but his supporters were being very rude. It wasn't nice to watch. Also, LOL @ them cheering louder for Palin than they did at any other part of the speech.
