Mitra here. The hip hop, the soul, the faces on television are making me cry. In high school, my best friend Saba used to say there would never be a black president in our lifetime. He's really an inspiration to all.
And I've been thinking that since 2004.

Of course the KKK will try to attempt something.
And will mess this all up.
I hope not.
This is so much of an historic event.
Just think, if someone said in the 50's that the U.S. would soon have an African American president... You would have never thought it to be possible.
I absolutely love it.

For the first time, I feel so connected to this moment, I feel so PROUD that our country could come together and has taken such a move in the right direction! I'm so EXCITED for our future, for what promise I feel from Obama's speech!

YES WE CAN!
YES WE DID!

I understand that Obama becoming the first African American President is a huge milestone for all ethnicities around the world, exespecially African Americans. I understand that the dreams of young people all over have been uncovered and are possible. But as a 19 year old woman I hope that everyone, no matter what color or sex, realizes that Obama did not win based on his skin color. He deserves soooo much more credit than just surviving the prejudice hatred and denile in his life. Obama won because he is the better man, all around;a better father,a better son, a better husband, a better politician and a better president. McCain does not even come close to being a third of the man Obama is. McCain and his entire party were just a big joke. They are liars, manipulaters and self centered a-holes. Obama is selfless, he is truely a role model and the epitome of what the President of the United States should be ( ... )
