Grr. Talk about a challenge!

OF: She fucking hates the rattle. Hayden has a thing about putting Jane in bed with them early on a Sunday morning when there's not a brothel to run or idiot Tool boys to remind about all the things they need to do in order to keep their business actually functioning.

But there's something innocent about the baby she never wanted clutching a rattle she's sure Hayden bought because he knew how much the noise would piss her off, and he loves to get under her skin in a way no one else can. (She thinks that's why, try as she might, she's sort of falling back in love with him in a way she swore she never would way back when.)

Innocence in a mess of chaos, of daughters breaking mothers hearts and dads disappeared to avoid jail terms. It's kind of ironic, actually.

I know. I remember back when they had just started hooking up and I was thinking about that as I tried to come up with something for rattle and I was like, wow, she's grown up sooo much. I kinda forget now she's still meant to be like, 21 or whatever, still really young. I love the side Hayden brings out in her, because I do believe that she loves him and I think they're totally end game. I don't think either of them could find someone more perfectly matched for them.

So, little known fact is that I LOVE fic that takes place pe-pilot. I love it. It's like crack to me. This was perfect.

Fave line "I miss you." She says, and wants it to be both a confession and an apology.

I love pre pilot GG. My most favourite NS scene is the bar scene. That scene was heart in my throat-omg this couple need to be together now-this couple are going to break my heart- type of thing, and I always kinda knew if I ficced them, it'd be pre pilot. So thanks for giving me the excuse.

I think what you said describes them perfectly. I think she longs to love him the way he deserves but she doesn't know how, and that's why she runs. Or maybe because she knows that this could be forever. *shrug*
