The Democrats' situation is depressing. Why is the Clinton camp doing all the Republicans' work for them? How is it that I have come to dislike people I used to have distant admiration for, like Bill Clinton, Geraldine Ferraro, and the nation's middle-aged white women? I'll be watching the nominating convention, not for the inspirational speeches ( Read more... )

Every work day feels like it should be Thursday, and then it turns out it's only Tuesday. Every weekend ends too soon. This and other unique observations will be in my new book: "Like Dave Barry, only not funny." This one is really Thursday, but I've got a feeling tomorrow will somehow be Tuesday."

I hear that. This week has been horrendous for being a perpetual Tuesday.

Me, I'm not going to say a word. I'm just going to let Proverbs 26:11 do all the talking for me.

What can I say? I used to crack that out every time a new Star Wars film would come out and the fans would chirp "Oh, this one is going to be worth the money." I'm thinking about having it carved into my gravestone.

whoa, i must need more coffee - at first i thought that read:
"blog about your transition from kid fascination..." and thought "yeah right, maybe feeding kids TO art students"

to be honest i like your random blog posts, i find them to be funny and interesting.

BUT since you asked, i wouldn't mind reading more about:

1. your family, in particular your mom, but i know that is probably difficult to write about

2. what it's like to be a man. how do you feel about having visible hair on your back? why don't you experiment with your facial hair more, like make a green beard or cultivate a handlebar mustache?

He's already spent 20 years going through every possible permutation of hair and beard, you just missed it because it was pre-blog.

Tell me, what were you like in High School? Did you grow up in a rural environment? How did you meet Alexis?

I had not seen that before. I like the phylogenetic tree toward the bottom. I'll have to look more closely at that.

Wayne clearly has a closer connection with academia than I do--his respectable writing style is a dead giveaway.
