Ugh, digging holes deeper than six inches in New England--possibly the world's most frustrating task. I'm convinced that every online video that tries to show you how easy it is to dig a post hole or plant a tree was shot in some place like Ohio. Rocks, people!

Also, rocks walls. So take that, Ohio! (I don't actually know anything about Ohio)

Sierra Nevada make some nice beers. They're very pricey over here though, so I rarely drink them. Only a few pubs I know stock them.

Is that what peach leaves look like? Weird. I've obviously never seen a peach tree (which is not weird I suppose because I doubt they grow here or back in Ireland).

About the peach tree, if you want fruit, you should probably plant two. Usually it's a good idea to plant two different varieties so they can cross pollinate. You'll probably still get some fruit, but with two you'll get more and beter fruit. This is why we went with two varieties of each of the fruit trees we planted last year.

it's self-pollinating so we'll hope for the best. maybe we'll get a different one next year.

Yay for fruit trees. My friends from Bulgaria asked me why Americans don't have more fruits trees. I really didn't have a good answer for them.
