Red Fox - about as urban as they get...

I was in St.James's Park in the centre of London, doing the tourist thing, photographing the (captive) Pelicans, when suddenly my viewfinder went totally ginger...
Zooming back, I caught this handsome chap, not three yards away, with his eye on the lakeside ducks & moorhens:

That is a great picture, the colour contrasts are just brilliant. And the story with the children is funny.

I always thought so. There's a railway behind my parents' house, and when I was a kid we used to see the foxes bringing their cubs out onto the opposite side of the cutting to play! Sooooooooooooooooo cute!

my aunt lives near waterloo station and i saw a fox scrounging through the rubbish in an alley right near her house when i was visiting a year ago september. i was so surprised!!

Cool! I knew they'd followed the railways quite deep into the city, but didn't realise they were right in the centre until I took that picture (last May)
