*laughs* Man, I hadn't even picked the timing on it. It's starting to get really hot and humid here in Queensland at the moment, so all the beasties are getting restless.

I have sent that link to my work mates. We have a ton of gold orb weavers here where I work. (I do work for an environmental education center, and our property is loaded with them.)

We have seen the webs catch the birds, but they usually release them.

Those webs are nasty sticky.

I used to live on Markwell st, which is how I know that it's a quarter kilometre of spidery awesomeness. Some adventurous spider would web over the footpath about once or twice a week, and I wouldn't always spot the web in time...:( It's really hard to get that stuff out of your hair.
