[Itachi stares down at his Hitomi, unsure if the voice he head is who he truly thinks it is--his mind has played such cruel tricks on him so far today that he almost wouldn't be surprised if he's beginning to lose it completely.

He knows that tone, reigned, yet dominating, commanding obedience. Itachi is very familiar with Kakashi when he uses that tone.

But he's not sure he can face him--not knowing that he obviously has seen that and Itachi would rather deny its existence completely.]

I...[His words trail off, his voice not as steady as he would like it to be, but he refuses to acknowledge that weakness as well.]
