Voice Call § Private to Itachi
[ There is so much he wants to say, so much held back right on his tongue, jailed behind his teeth. Caught in the larynx. In the heart. That dream -- it was too much. And he thinks -- knows this is impulsive, not like him. He's usually more controlled. Not so easily moved to action. But those emotions, Itachi's -- too violent. He's still trembling, seeing that. Experiencing it. Wanting it to end. Needing it to end. (But not wanting it at all. Itachi thinks he deserves it, so resigned to that fate. To all the lies lies lies he believes to be so true.)
And those eyes.
That wild, lost look in his eyes.
Kakashi's seen that before. Knows it well. Wishes he doesn't.
(It scares the shit out of him, the thought that this might be too late.) ]
Itachi.
[ Even so -- his voice is completely controlled. There isn't a shred of emotion. He knows Itachi can't handle that right now. And that's also why he chose voice over video. ]
I think it's time we rendezvous.
