I have a feeling that many of my thoughts will be different / more complex once I've had the time to rewatch and process the episode. Therefore I'm so writing down my initial reaction, it will be interesting to have it for future reference :D.

It was a fantastic episode.

Fantastically cruel. I'm not over it. I want to swim in all the pain. Then I want Bonnie and Elena to destroy Silas.

The whole sequence in the tunnels was just stunning. "I'm real." Ugh, shivers.

Now I'm waiting for 4x15 to be just as good.

I've seen some mixed reactions to Jeremy's death, and I am sorry to see him go, but overall I liked the way everything went down?

I'm still not convinced this is the last of Jeremy. Maybe I'm just hoping it's not because I was dissatisfied with how abrupt and random it was? I mean, yes, this show has a habit of killing off characters JUST when they get interesting, but it felt like Jeremy's arc is incomplete, even though thematically the Hunter/Silas connection should make for an appropriate death. I guess with all his training and learning to kill vampires, I expected something more... active?

Anyway, between Bonnie and Silas and the Hunter stuff, I'm guessing there's a loophole somewhere.

ELENA GILBERT MAKING PEACE WITH THE FACT THAT SHE WON'T GET THE CURE!!! Amazing. She said all the things I ever wanted her to say on the show.

YES. Bless this show for giving me such things.

I did not expect to see Katherine in this episode! I wonder why she wants the cure. Is it to kill Klaus, or does she have another agenda?

I don't think they'll bring him back? If a death is fake on TVD, it's always revealed by the end of the episode. Besides, how many times can you bring baby Gilbert back to life?

You're making me want things from that Originals spin-off O_O. Things I can never have, damn it!

Woahhhhhhhh there tiger. Jeremy isn't actually dead is he?! I MEAN. WAIT. WHAT. SURELY NOT?!

FYI, I'd watch a separate show of Katherine plotting to kill Klaus, and I say it while being bored to tears by all the repeated attempts to get rid of him.

Katherine gets shit done tho. That show would be over in three episodes.

This show turned me into full on masochist!!! I swear I didn't enjoy pain this much before watching TVD!! I loved and hated this episode. I loved it because it was great and I hated it because I'm in so much pain for Elena and Bonnie ( ... )

Hmmm, I'm not sure if they'd kill Katherine off at all. If not for any other reason, then because it's such a perfect chance to show off Nina. I wouldn't bet any money on it, but I doubt Katherine will die any time soon.

The accent was dreadful, and the actor being a dickhead didn't help.
