Yes, people talk awful lot about Elena, and we often tend to take it at face value, even when Elena's actions say the exact opposite. The bloodsharing is a good example, because we are tempted to take Stefan's interpretation even though he wasn't even there and has no knowledge of the conversation Elena and Damon had before they shared blood.
