Kyo would have posted something to the network earlier -- probably right after the chaotic weekend where he couldn't remember much and his two travelling partners ended up in distant cities -- but he was, understandably, still angry about that. Finally, Tuesday morning, a week after the hazy events, he says something. He appears to be walking

[Of course Kyo's "oya-baka" has to be there to witness the battle. He smiles as Kyo's team handily takes out Falkner's Pokémon one by one, and he's the first to come forward once the fight is over.]

Well done, Kyo. You've trained your team quite well. [Kazuma's Tyrogue seems to agree, applauding excitedly beside him.]

Thanks. I guess I learned from the best.

Are you planning on challenging the gym?

[Naturally. And you're getting a hair-ruffle for that compliment.]

Not yet, I'm afraid. I only have two partners so far, and while they're both giving their all, neither of them is quite ready.

[Daaad, you're messing up my mane, Dad.]

Yeah, it takes a couple months to get them in their thirties.

[Not good. He wants to take off soon, now that he has everything he needs done in Violet, but the others are behind. They could always go back and battle the gyms later, but he has to keep in mind what they want to do. But... still. He's torn.]

That sounds about right, from my experience. My Tyrogue has been gaining about a level every two days, so far.

[Kazuma hears that quiet aside, and he's pretty sure he knows exactly what Kyo's thinking. He gently claps the redhead on the shoulder.]

I'm in no hurry to earn a badge myself, Kyo. We can always return later. For now there's someone waiting for you, isn't there?

What about Hanajima? And Rin? You all like Tohru and probably want to see her as soon as possible, too, but I don't know if they want to hike the entire way to Olivine when we won't be stopping at different cities for too long.

[And you're not exactly young yourself, Shishou. But he doesn't want to just leave Shishou -- and Saki probably wouldn't want to leave him, either, along with Rin. But would they agree? But does it matter all that much? All he wanted right now was Tohru. He didn't care about the other girls' wants and needs. He just doesn't want to go ahead without Kazuma, but doesn't want to be dragged down by the girls.]

Argh! I just don't know what to freaking do!

[Bite your tongue, you little whippersnapper. Kazuma smiles fondly, squeezing Kyo's shoulder. He understands why the boy is so worked up, of course, but he needs a calming influence.]

There's only one way to find out. Let's ask them how they feel before we begin to worry. Once we know, we can decide on the best course of action then.

Perhaps the group will need to separate, perhaps not. But if it does, it will only be temporary. Getting Tohru-san back with us again is the most important thing.

Yeah... Good idea. Rin, Hanajima and I don't really get along, so you might have to ask them. They like you. [The whole Hanajima thing is... pretty confusing, though, but he isn't going to ask.]

I just can't stand knowing no one's there with her right now.

I'd be happy to. I'm sure we'll be able to find an arrangement that works for all of us. [Well, Kyo is still one up on Kazuma; at this point, he's largely oblivious that a "Hanajima thing" is even a thing that exists.]

I understand. We'll go to meet her as quickly as we can. In the meantime, I'm sure she'll be able to make friends in Olivine.
