[So. Kyo would have posted something to the network earlier -- probably right after the chaotic weekend where he couldn't remember much and his two travelling partners ended up in distant cities -- but he was, understandably, still angry about that. Finally, Tuesday morning, a week after the hazy events, he says something. He appears to be walking, and the video bounces lightly as the one holding it must be walking as well.]
-- Probably won't be needing you, so you can do the recording, Kotsu. Really, I probably won't be needing anyone but Shock, but I'll use some of the others as well for equal opportunity and experience. We've been training for this for months, so you all better not screw up. It's gonna be a piece of cake.
Bone bone. [The Cubone agrees, nodding. The Persian and Luxray at Kyo's heels nod as well. Kyo looks at the 'gear.]
If anyone cares, Tohru's in Olivine. I don't know how the hell it happened, I just woke up last Tuesday and she was gone. And Machi's missing -- still haven't found her.
[He didn't think to call her; he was too angry about Tohru's disappearance.]
If anyone else is in Olivine... Look after her, okay?
[It pains him to say it and he utters the words with gritted teeth, because he doesn't trust her with just anybody. It will take over a month to get to Olivine, he figures, and she's there alone.
He walks through the gym's double doors. The video stops recording for about ten minutes before it turns on again. Video taping the fights with Falkner's cronies would be boring.]
I'm Falkner, the Violet City Pokémon Gym Leader! People say you can clip a bird Pokémon's wings with a jolt of electricity... I won't allow such insults to bird Pokémon! I'll show you the real power of the magnificence of bird Pokémon!
Seriously, cut the crap. I don't have any bird Pokémon; they're actually pretty lame. There are better Pokémon out there that can fly. So, let's see what three months of training has done for me. You ready for this, Falkner?
[Falkner sends out his Noctowl. The large bird ruffles his feathers and prepares for attack as soon as Kyo picks his opponent.]
Leo, get out there.
[The Persian leaves Kyo's side obediently and advances, shoulders raised and head lowered. He's ready.]
Noctowl, use Take Down!
Shit! [Shock has that move as well, and it's pretty powerful. Luckily, Leo is nearly 30 levels higher than Noctowl, so the damage isn't devastating, and he's hit by recoil.]
Heh. You almost had we worried there! Leo, show the bird how it's done! Power Gem!
[A Rock move, very effective. In fact, it's a critical hit. The Noctowl faints and Falkner sends out his Honchkrow.]
All right Leo, let's give Shock a turn. C'mon, Shock.
[The Persian trades spots with the Luxray, whose eyes gleam in an intimidating manner.]
Wing Attack, Honchkrow!
[Shock is assaulted by the large crow's wings, but merely cringes. He still has enough energy left to finish the bird off.]
Use Thunder Fang!
[While the bird's still close, Shock pounces and digs his fangs into its neck, sending electric shocks throughout its plump body. It's another one hit wonder, and the bird collapses. Falkner is frustrated by now and sends out his last hope: a Pidgeot.]
I'm gonna finish this in the best way possible. Go, Carp!
[Out of his Pokéball comes the giant Gyarados, jaws agape and baring his teeth. To think that this thing used to be a useless fish.]
Pidgeot, use Twister!
[The Gyarados barely budges.]
Carp, use Hyper Beam!
[The massive beam of light leaves no room for doubt. The Pidgeot faints and the battle is over. Kyo smirks wickedly.]
...For pity's sake! My dad's cherished bird Pokémon... But a defeat is a defeat. All right. Take this official Pokémon League Badge. This one is the Zephyr Badge.
Hell yes. I did it! I beat the gym leader. Finally. [He looks at his Pokémon.] We did it.
One down, seven to go. [And four to get to Tohru...]
( ooc; badge is mod approved! )
