I'm sure you can take down all three of his birds with one Pokémon if its level is high enough, but it's always good to have a backup.

The gym levels aren't how they are in the games, if that's what you're thinking. Falkner's birds are in their early thirties.

Becoming a Pokémon Champion isn't easy. If their levels were any lower, then it wouldn't be a challenge.
