A Scandal in Belgravia

I want to write about Scandal, but I don't think I can do the episode justice.

It was worth the year and a half wait, seriously. The cinematography was outstanding, I stand by the fact that Paul McGuigan is a genius. The transitions between scenes were innovative and exciting and I especially loved the idea of placing Sherlock and Irene by the dead ( Read more... )

Was it simply Sherlock's delusional thinking? His wish for Irene to have remained alive? Perhaps.

Woah...I've never seen anyone interpret it that way so far. But it's such a brilliant spin on it and I love it so. You have just blown my mind, dear madam.

It was a fantastic episode though despite the little niggles I have with it. ^_^

Yes, the little niggles remain but the sheer amazingness of the episode eclipses them in the end!

I'm wondering if, perhaps during a tense scene in The Reichenbach Fall, we might just hear Sherlock's phone go "aahhh."

Yes. I am very concerned about Stephen Thompson penning the episode, however it's being directed by Toby Haynes who has directed Being Human and some episodes of DW including The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon. So I don't think we have anything to worry about looks wise. I hope that Moffat and Gatiss already worked out in which direction they wanted Reichenbach to go, and advised Thompson.

I'm thinking that they probably will leave us with wondering if Sherlock is dead or alive. I am pretty certain we see the immediate aftermath of the fall as I have seen set photographs printed in the tabloids. But this is, literally, the biggest 'cliffhanger' there is and so I doubt they would pass up an opportunity to leave us hanging!

It's great to see that other people have enjoyed that episode as much as I. I love your diagnotic of Sherlock-sexual :))
And I really think Sherlock was there in time to save Irene ... I would have wondered if he had not kept an eye and ear open for her way through the world, and so surely could easily been there when she was in trouble.
